Description All non-electric Pokemon have vacated the pool... and also the premises. Just in case.
Luxray needs more love ; ;

For this one i went with a somewhat different tactic, if you can call it that. Almost all maps in Garry's Mod that have water also apply an overlay on the screen whenever your view is underwater, however, this overlay is often very blurry which results in a loss of detail and image clarity, which can be seen in some of my other pics on dA. Naturally, this is not ideal, so i proceeded to search for a way to disable the overlay, and came across a discussion on Steam regarding it which took quite a while to find... ...and it said there wasn't a way normally. Great.
Being defeated, i went and looked up a console command list, and i found an interesting command: mat_drawwater. Naturally, i tried it out of curiosity and the overlay completely vanished!

...but there was a catch.

It disabled the water's surface texture at the same time, which wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it was manageable with a large, transparent flat plate, but it also rendered the skybox completely black while underwater.

This... is not good, and it's why i haven't usually ent out of my way to go through with this method most of the time. Until now....
...because thank god for this GMod add-on(as well as a prop resizer and some cloud textures from Counter Strike: Source): steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles…

After that, the rest of the scene kinda put itself together over time, heh... Well... i hope it's good, at least. :>

For future reference, if you want to get underwater shots without the blurry overlay, just set up a camera underwater, and position yourself out of the water. The presence of the overlay depends on the player's position, not the current camera's position, so if the camera is underwater but the player isn't, the overlay won't be there.
