Description
In case you've been living under a rock, Pokemon Go was released this week, and it's literally the best thing a Pokemon fan could ever ask for (when the servers are up XP).This is a super personal piece, I wanted to illustrate the first day I got to go out and really experience the game by walking around by myself in a neighborhood I've never explored on foot, hunting for nearby Pokemon. It was at sunset, just after the rain so it was a little misty, the fireflies were out... It was really nice, and I really felt like I was on an adventure. I wished on many birthday cakes when I was a kid for Pokemon to be a real thing and it sort of feels that way right now with Pokemon Go, so it was almost like a dream come true moment
Glad I could share with you guys ^^

I wished I played that game, I could hope it would be released on the 3DS; aside from that, I love how it reminds me of the sequence from Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" ("If I picked the day to fly, oh, this would be it.")Β Especially when the figure of yourself makes that sequence so adorable.

I found a Darkrai in my attic! Took about 30 pokeballs but I caught it!

Awww. That sounds lovely <3 Me and Johnny got the game now too and it's so exciting to play it! It's also nice how it makes us go out for walks together. Especially for me because most places I have gone to was always by car, so I actually get to walk to them now.

This looks fantastic! And I totally know how you feel! Pokemon Go is probably the best Pokemon game to date just because of the experience that comes to with it! My 8 year old and I wander around and catch pokemon together and almost always see at least 10 other people of all ages playing as well! ; u ;

What team did ye select? And are you lucky enough to live in an area with easily accessible PokΓ©stops? I got shafted on that front.

I'm Team Valor! Though I'm noticing a lot of hate posts about that team, I don't get it My area isn't great on Pokestops either but I discovered there's a park not too far out of the way that's got loads of them so that'll probably be my go-to spot

I picked Mystic, both because I try to be intelligent about my battling style, and because their supposed research is more up my alley. Plus, Atricuno is my favorite of the birds. I've seen plenty of hate posts against Valor too, but I'm just as clueless as you as to why they're happening. As for PokΓ©stops, my strategy has become walking a circuit. I walk past 5/7 of the PokΓ©stops in town, then loop around. It's a 1.1 km loop, but it's the most efficient method I have.

You're lucky you can walk to yours!! I could walk to mine but it'd be probably over 5km at least... maybe after a while of training with the app I'll be able to walk these crazy distances without breaking a sweat XD

That is the benefit of the app: even if it's just a fad for now, it'll quickly become how us nerdy types exercise without feeling quite so normal~
