Description Epic Battle.

When Commander Ander was told that she was going to have to interact with someone from the Army, it was easy to tell that the Naval officer was not pleased. The Army was full of money-hungry death-bringers who liked to shoot things up and drive home for dinner. Nothing like blood and guts to get you in the mood for food. They weren’t anything like the Navy. The Navy was full of respectable people, and Commander Ander wasn’t pleased at all to have to associate with those—those hooligans!

She rearranged her cap as she descended from her vessel, a group of soldiers saluting her at the bottom of the ramp. She brought one hand up in a brief salute before she allowed one of them to take her bag.

“Sir, we’ve arranged for a car to bring you to Sergeant Sarge’s office for the debrief on the reason you’re here.”

Commander Ander froze in her steps, the brunette turning sharp hazel eyes towards the soldier who’d spoken to her. What? A Sergeant?! You’ve got to be kidding me, they’re so low in rank, they shouldn’t even be considered a rank!

“I-is something wrong, sir?”

“Yes, something is wrong! I’m a Commander, which is equivalent in rank to a Lieutenant-Colonel in the army! And you’re making me meet with a Sergeant?!”

The soldier winced and shrank back a little at the Commander’s tone, but he felt he needed to explain why, exactly, she was meeting with Sergeant Sarge.

“Sir, there’s an explanation.”

“Let’s hear it, then.” Commander Ander glared.

“Sergeant Sarge is actually a Major-General, which is equivalent to a Rear-Admiral in the Navy.” Commander Ander’s eye twitched. That was three ranks above her. It was this Sergeant Sarge who was probably annoyed at having to deal with someone below his rank. “The reason they’re still addressed as Sergeant Sarge is because it was requested. It’s kind of funny?” The soldier gulped at the hate in Commander Ander’s eyes before she entered the car and slammed the door, the soldier jumping.

He hastened to put her bag in the trunk before the car drove off, headed towards the nearby base, where Sergeant Sarge—aka Major-General Sarge—would be meeting with her. Commander Ander glared out the window at all the army thugs. That’s what they were, after all. Thugs. Grunts. Idiotic killing machines with no finesse. Ugh, she was gonna barf. Why was she sent on this stupid debriefing, anyway? If Sarge was a Major-General, shouldn’t one of the Admirals have come to this debrief?

She was so angry and bitter. Her Captain was going to pay for this, big time!

The car stopped and the door was opened for Commander Ander, the brunette stepping out and looking around in distaste. She followed the soldier inside, saluting everyone who did her, and then entered a small office where a woman was talking to a man, the two of them discussing something in hushed tones.

“Excuse me, sirs.” They turned as the soldier spoke and he saluted them. “Commander Ander.”

“Thank you, soldier. You may go.” The soldier saluted once more, and left. The woman whispered something to the other man in her office, who nodded and exited the room.

Commander Ander looked around annoyed, noting the plaque on the desk said Sergeant Sarge. So this was the big man’s office, all she had to do was wait. She sat down and got comfortable on the man’s couch as she eyed the woman finishing up in the corner. Probably his secretary or something. Didn’t all high-ranking officials have secretaries to wipe their noses and clean their feet?

“So how long am I going to have to wait for Sergeant Sarge? I’m a busy woman, I can’t wait around all day for him.” The brunette spoke with an annoyed voice as she picked at her nails.

The woman in the corner slowly turned, sending a condescending smirk in Commander Ander’s direction. “I’ll get with you as soon as I’m finished with these charts.”

Commander Ander’s eyebrow twitched as she narrowed her eyes. That had sounded a little too condescending. And the way she’d said it... The Commander’s eyes shifted towards all the pictures in the office, noting they all had the woman in them. Shit, this bitch is the Sergeant?! Who the hell names their daughter Sarge?!

The woman finished up with what she was doing before picking up a folder and walking towards Commander Ander, her shoes tapping loudly on the ground as she walked. She held the folder out to the other woman and smiled again. It was more of a smirk, and that pissed Commander Ander off.

“Everything you need to know is in there, to be relayed to your Captain. The folder cannot leave this base, and should any of this information get out to the press or to anyone else, you’ll be the one to face the consequences.”

“I know how the system works, sir.” Commander Ander fake-smiled.

Sergeant Sarge’s green eyes narrowed as she snatched the folder away from the other woman, who’d been about to open it and read it.

“Listen here, kiddo. I didn’t get to my rank with my looks and charm. You’d do well to remember that, what with your pretty little hair and your manicured nails.”

Commander Ander leapt to her feet, snatching the folder from the other’s hand. She didn’t care that she was older or higher in rank. No one spoke to her like that! Her nails were naturally curvy! And she woke up with that hair! Honest! She didn’t spend two hours in the bathroom to get it to look like that!

“You wanna repeat that? I didn’t think so.” Commander Ander grit her teeth. Sergeant Sarge just laughed condescendingly.

“You can’t beat the best, kiddo.”

“Sergeant Sarge!”

The woman turned to her door and saluted the man standing there. “Sir!”

“Ah, Commander Ander has arrived, good. She will be staying in the base for a few days, as ordered by her Captain. She will be sharing your quarters. Be sure to debrief her thoroughly on the mission.”

“Sir!”

The man nodded and left, the two women returning to their glaring contest.

“Are we game?” Commander Ander growled.

“Oh, it’s on.” Sergeant Sarge smirked. “We’ll see who comes out top dog.”

Commander Ander stomped past the Major-General, the other woman following her. This was a battle of epic proportions.

Commander Ander versus Sergeant Sarge.

END.
