I know it's been a long time since I upload anything new. AGAIN! But I've been pretty busy with everything lately and don't have too much time for an art... Anyway, I'm still alive and I'm trying to do as much as I can whenever I can.This time nothing too fancy, but I realized there's too few gas giants in my gallery. I still need to learn how to vary their texture more than this.

I simply cut out line of pixels from pretty much ANY picture you want, 1x3500 let's say, and then I strech it to make 3500x3500, that way you end up with square canvas of horizontal lines.
And next you just need to use filter for polar coordinates and that's all, cut out your ring

I cut a line from some picture, 1x1500px and stretched it horizontally, and then I applied polar effect on that layer and cut out the rings

Oh okay, looks like it worked out well.
I've used a steep-bar gradient and this also comes out pretty good.
I use Gimp and the polar effect that's available would never work to produce anything as nice as what you've done.
