Description
This was completely unplanned and unintended. I just had this sudden urge to draw Uzumaki Naruto as the sixth Hokage... as you do. If you don't agree with the way he looks, don't tell me. It's just my own interpretation blah blah blah.Took about 3 and a half hours start to finish, PS + wacom tablet.
Man I need to practice drawing faces more... and just drawing in general.

Can't say I'm the biggest Naruto fan, but I do love the brown/flesh tones of this piece in contrast to his brilliant blue eyes. I get the feeling he's staring down some future enemy or an oncoming threat...

Nice... the eyes just seem to automatically grab your attention. the slits for pupils are a great touch as it shows that as he gets older he gains more of the kyuubi's traits.

I have to say I'm not a big fan of red saturated colors, but for 3,5 hours it's very lovely.

I guess it's just a matter of taste ^_^ I wanted to explore reds more since I've spent a lot of time with blues (eva etc.). I'd probably go greens next, but I don't really like green much..

Try purple. It's a lovely color. Green is quite a difficult color to use, try and avoid it. Go brown or something

Thanks. I'm trying to head in that direction with my painting... to be able to express shape and detail in a more loose manner. It's quicker that way, and looks better if pulled off rightly ^_^

I love how the colour in his eyes are more itense compared to the other colour scheme, his skin the background, etc.

Thanks! Yeah I wanted to make sure Naruto's eyes stood out, to further emphasise the kyubii influenced slit like nature of his pupils (although most people probably wouldn't notice that.. never mind ^_^)

wow! i totally didn't recognize naruto, but that make it all the more awesome to me (i don't think i would recognize him when he's that much older. besides i haven't been following the show).
the style is great, it's like a movie still, but very painterly.

Hehe, to be honest, when you're going from manga style to slightly realist.. it's going to be a little hard to maintain likeness. Add the age gap, + interpretation.. the finished result is probably not going to be recognisable. In a way that's what I wanted, for the viewer to be unsure about who he is until they see the whisker marks on his cheek.

Well it's a portrait, so dead centre's the best place I could think of. As for the background, like I said it was completely unplanned so I really hadn't a clue what to put there XDDD And yeah I use photoshop. I have painter, but haven't learnt how to use it... yet ^_^

Haha, to be honest, you may be better off reading the manga. Naruto goes on for 136 episodes (it's a really slow moving anime), followed by another hundred off episodes of crappy fillers (don't watch them), and now the new season has just started. It'll take a while getting thru them XDD
