Description
A Date With Debbi #15 (1974)Yes another visit with the DC Comics gender switched Archie gang. Or is it?
I've always maintained that these are the actual Archie characters just earning extra cash by working for the competition.
Since Archie was so well known, he had to dress in drag to work for another company (Archie Comics contracts are very strict.)
But once again, Archie is needed for re-shoots for his own book and this time it's Mr Wetherbee who was sent to bring "her" back. The Bee put on a wig as a disguise but forgot his rather distinctive glasses.
And say, isn't that blonde girl Melody from the group Josie & The Pussycats?

The real reason why the characters look so similar is that many of Archie Comics Artists used to work under the table for other companies. That's why there is no credits in the pages, the artist (Probably Dan DeCarlO) probably made the work without Archie Comic's knowledge. Sabrina Teenage Witch artist, Al Hartley, was rather notorious for doing this as he was making good girl art for Marvel Comics till his Christian conversion in the 70's.

Probably it's supposed to be, but that's not my impression, even when I zoom in on the pic. Β
