Description
A B5 Watercolor Commission forIt's her lovely OC, Akari.
Based on her character description, Akari is a half english and a half Japanese. Red and Black are her favorite colors. She had a pale skin and she doesn't have any problem showing some skins except her back because it covers with scars due to some unlucky childhood times.
I had this commission done first, because my bf always use the computer, but oh well, one down 4 more to go.
I hope I could still have many costumers. It's fun to make concept out of their characters.

The empty room represent her feelings,
The once blossoming nature represent her happy warm life,
And the sudden snow represents how easily her warm feelings began to grow cold.

yes, i used watercolor for soft colors and mixed with poster color to give the other colors a strong look.

they say that watercolor is one of mediums that is hard to control. One of the reason is because of the water you are using.
I remembered talking to a professional artist here in our country. He said its better to use mineral water instead of water from faucets.

Wow, I would have never thought of the water that I use... and does it matter what brand you get? I have a really cheap brand that Ive had for years, but should I look into getting a better brand?

It really depends on the person who is using the watercolor. But they say that good quality will give you good expression.
Try buying watercolor with an aquarelle branded on it. Reeves are good too since the pigments are good to handle. Prang Watercolor is too much on moisture, but it's up to the artist on how he/she will handle the watercolors.
There are watercolors who are very cheap and non-toxicable, but it was only used by beginners and mostly by children who likes using watercolor for starters.

ummm Its called "art studio" ... it was in an art kit I got from my aunt so its not a good brand at all most likely... OTL I dont knwo much about water color...

Lolz. It's okay. I think you need to buy Prang watercolor. That brand is for beginners though it really gives you a good result.
Controllable watercolor?? Nah.. it really depends on the artist.

No prob. I think Prang is the cheapest watercolor when it comes to branded names. It has a mark that it was professional artist recommend, though not sure about that.
But After you observed and learned how to use watercolor, there will be a day that you might try the expensive one because of curiosity (just like I do before hahaha
