Thanks very much. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out overall, but my watercolorin' skills still need some polish.

Nicely done! I wonder how much I'd get into making skull balloons...

LOL! It'd be a niche market. Goth Day at the Balloon Festival... *snicker*

Thanks very much! I'm glad to finally have all of these finished too. Once they're all matted and framed, I can get back to my small trade pieces. As fast as I've had to work on these major project type things, I hope that I can keep up at that pace so that I can clear out my queue!

This is much better than the last one.
It would be so fun to ride on those.

Thanks! The contrast is much better now, but I still want to see if I can get the green-and-gold scheme to work. I think I could have gotten it to work if I'd been able to use colored pencils, but then I'd have been disqualified from the "painting" catagory for the contest. I'm going to try again later on.

The contrast makes the picture work better, but I still have my heart set on the color scheme of WIP-2. I almost like that one better, even if people think it's washed out. Ironic, eh?

LOL - Ironic indeed! I like the green-and-gold scheme better too, but it wasn't working out with the way I was building it. I did some image searches online to see what other "mountain sunrise" color schemes could work, and the blues and purples looked like they would be easiest to adapt to the already-extant color scheme (particularly around the balloon itself). I'm going to tackle the green and gold scheme again one of these days soon. My original dream sequence was in that color range, rather than in the somber tones that I keep ending up with.

What you did, worked out well. You got the contrast you needed to balance the picture, but I'll love to see what you can do in the green gold scheme. For some reason, after seeing the first picture I can't imagine anything but that scheme working as well.... Maybe it's because the green and gold looks good with a natural skull tone and with blacks? Who can tell...

Ooh, it looks MUCH better this way! I'm glad you darkened it. And I like the little people riding in the balloon. ^_^
Well done and congratulations on making the deadline with a little time to spare!
