Description
Just wanted to share something that I've been working onΒ <3
I got this idea when someone commented on one of my other posts, suggesting I make animal totem pendants. Being a huge animal lover, I thought this was a wonderful idea, so I got to work looking for ways I could make authentic animal totem pendants (which I am super excited about, by the way!).
While experimenting with ideas, I came up with this one.
My Pomeranian passed away last December, and I have been trying to figure out a way to incorporate his hair and/or ashes into a bottle-styled necklace since then. I got the idea of creating one of my goddess pendants to be hugging the little bottle of hair, as it symbolizes the closeness and love that people have with their pets, even after their passing. I used citrine stones in the branches to symbolize his November birthstone.
While the bottle is large, I think anything smaller than that wouldn't be enough (plus, I could not find anything smaller! Lol). I thought about adding ashes, but figured it would probably cloud up the hair and so I decided not to try it because I didn't want to wreck it.
I'll probably use this as more of an ornament than a pendant - it looks very lovely sitting next to his little urn and picture that I have sitting on my computer deskΒ <3
Anyways, if people end up liking this design, I would be happy to offer it as a made-to-order =] I will also have those animal-totem pendants available to show you all soon as well!

ooooo ;-; Teddy! THis is SO sweet and cute, and perfectly well done.Β I think the fur fits just perfect in it, and is such a part of the dog it would work better than ashes.Β Very sweet idea.Β I ran across that picture of Teddy with his santa outfit and Noelle the other day in my download folder, and couldn't help but think of you!

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog friend passing away... that's always very hard, but I bet they had a wonderful life with your family. Sometimes creative outlets can help of work through grief, so I'm happy your pom got such a beautiful piece dedicated to them. Very beautiful work here. Β

Oh gosh wow, a pet you grew up with! That must have been really hard to say goodbye, so I'm happy you seem to be working through your grief. Sweet little baby had an amazing life, I know it!

It was very hard =\ As weird as it is to say, I think it came at a "good" time though with having a new baby. He was old and I couldn't give him the time he deserved with a new baby around... plus, having Noelle to cuddle and take care of really helped. If he had passed any sooner, I'd have nothing to help fill the hole he left. But I hope that for the most part, he had a good life <3

Ah, so this is what you've been up to, collecting naturally shed animal fur samples. Can't wait to see more.

Thank you very much and I'm so sorry for your loss as well
My heart hurts to hear that. But yes, this could work with various different ashes/fur/flowers etc.
