I just remembered something. The original Sonic Screwdriver was literally a futuristic, non-manual screwdriver XD

Yeah, but that's an ordinary 21st century Earth laser pointer he's got there; hence the dirty look from 21st century Earth Zoe.

But they do not have to be exactly from Earth Scotland like Jamie and Amy.
You could as easily have some alien who unexplainedly speaks with a Scottish accent as a stereotype.
Or a person not natively from Scotland but talks in a Scottish accent and identifies as Scottish.

And now we do have an alien with a Scottish accent; the Doctor himself.

Yeah, the Seventh and Twelfth Doctor speak with Scottish accents, too. Tennant is also scottish and uses scottish accents in other roles, but the Tenth Doctor's accent is suppose to be an Estuary one. (similiar to the Eleventh's accent)
Actually i think once, the Tenth Doctor called himself Jamie McCrimmon while talking with a scottish accent.

Yup. But we already had Scottish companion take 2 AKA Amy Pond. Even though Jamie might be somewhat of a completely different type of Scot than Amy, (i do not actually watch Doctor Who but i read a lot about it, and i actually found it via a My Little Pony fandom joke where a background stallion named Time Turner is actually the Tenth Doctor or has a similiar personality to him, also i am from Italy so i did not have the chance to grow up with DW, i think i grew up with Power Rangers, Winx Club, Fairly Odd Parents, and Mermaid Melody, along with others. And i was'nt born yet when the TV movie was made, so i'm a NewSeries Baby technically, but the most i saw of it was a Music of the Spheres thingie on Youtube, the first 7 or 8 minutes of "Rose" before my mom and little sister arrived and became too noisy in my dad s' study, and maybe a few snippets of "The Doctor s' Daughter" and others on my mom s' TV (but my mom has the news to watch), and i also read the Ten Doctors fan comic thingie, and a comic where the Sixth Doctor and a shapeshifting penguin named Frobisher have to go see a football game with Peri Brown.)

Brilliant. I've just recently gotten into the Second Doctor, and Jamie is my favorite companion for just this reason-his belief that it's his job to protect the Doctor and the others. Even if he's actually protecting them from the Doctor.
