Wargh.. if this looks rushed, that's because it is. My computer is pissing me off too much to finish this properly.Anyway, a major peeve of mine is seeing Espeons drawn as fluffy dog-things.. when they're based directly off cats, and described as having short hair. FFS, stop putting giant ruffs on them, please.
EDIT: Just wanted to mention, the smaller ear-things aren't really extra ears, but sort of extensions of Espeon's "earlobes." I figure they'd help a bit like the weird setups of bat ears to keep it better aware of its surroundings.

*shudders* This thing gives me fear. Kinda reminds me of a sphynx cat. Those are kinda freaky. I think it's those elongated forelegs, which are so not of a cat which gives it its eerie, mutated quality. Though that isn't a bad thing, because as I said when commenting on vaporeon, espeon IS mutated. I thought those ear things were fuzzy cheeks too, and I'm guessing people think espeon's canine because most of the eevee family (excepting Umbreon) look much like foxes. Though I can see it being a feline as well. Love the lynx ears. I only want to know what's on its forehead though. Seems kind of unnatural there (not in a mutated way, but more artificial, and stuck on). That's the only thing which I don't get though. Everything else is spot on, and the weirdness doesn't matter, it's a mutated carnivore with an expanded brain.

the fact that every evolution of evee is supposed to be a different creature slips most peoples minds for some reason. Espeon looks kind of foxy, but I consider it like Miacis, the early carnivoran. You have different carnivores coming FROM that. Leafeon is like a fox, Glaceon could be one of those south american canids if not an antarctic fox, Jolteon reminds me alot of an aardwolf frankly with all the crests, espeon is a cat, Umbreon looks to me like a civet more than anything, flareon is abit like some sort of bear-dog.
So, no, they're not breeds of dog, fan-monkeys, get over it. Eevee is the evolution pokemon, a generalised carnivoran, and the others are the carnivora family tree, to me.

I know it's been a while since you posted this comment, but I just now stumbled on this picture.
Espeon is based off the nekomata. The nekomata is a bakeneko with a forked tail, and the bakeneko is a cat with supernatural abilities.
You know, I always wondered what to say Umbreon looks like, but I think you may be onto something with the civet suggestion...
And is it just me, or does Jolteon have a very rabbit-like face?

Thanks, it was something about the banded tail and the obvious references to the night-time.
Jolteon reminds me of a Japanese bobtail cat, in that it has a short tail and large ears, like a cat/rabbit.

Yeah, I've always thought Jolteon was rather like a cabbit, haha. Actually, Jolteon has no tail...just tufts of fur/spikes sticking out all over the place, covering its bum.

I personally like a nice meld of cat and fox in regards to umbreon and espeon - I agree that a ruff really doesn't work for it, though. It's a sleek short-furred animal.
I really like how you drew the cheek fur as a second set of ears here, that's a very interesting concept. This is one of the better espeon designs I've seen too, he/she is adorable.
Also, to the person above who mentioned people referring to Mewtwo as a cat - uh, it is a cat. It's described as a feline by pokemon themselves and certainly looks like one to me - as does Mew, which it was cloned from.

Your out of luck then... 'cause even I dont know for sure. But a cat is something I dont see him like. I have seen some cat like Mewtwo's around here and there not bad though. The addition oh claws to Mewtwo is something I like that people add to him.
Bottom line is, I dont see him as a cat... I just see him as.... HIM.

Cool. I think this looks more realistic than the leafeon, though perhaps that's because it doesn't have leaves growing out of it! I particularly like how the face looks.
