Description Gilgierth is my favorite Denjuu, and I thought it'd work well in an imitation of PEARL's art style.

I saw it on your personal blog and I was going to reply somehow but I decided to follow links and ended hear and I just wanted to say it looks amazingly, beautifuly, similar to Pearl7 art style while I saw the description here and I know this sentence is long but I don't care because this, althrough not perfect, is simple amazing and I couldn't belive it was you.

omg thank you TwT I really love their style but it was pretty tricky for me to emulate, I looked at some of their WIPs that they'd shown on their blog and referenced tons of their posts to get the look right. Our processes are still much different though, I uploaded a couple of WIPs to show a friend while I was working on it - racieb.meowcorp.us/etc/pearlgi… racieb.meowcorp.us/etc/pearlgi… racieb.meowcorp.us/etc/pearlgi… (lol 2 and 3 aren't that different why did I save both of them)

That's quite cool! The lineart is the part what makes it similar to their style. And the... vivid shading, like Sugimori got extreme. You achieved pretty much both of them here. I never tried emulate Pearl's style but I know it would be hard to me to do that with the way how I paint now.

Never seen their WIPs, but I follow the artist on Pixiv and I have saved much of his work in my "inspiration" folder (yes I need have such folder to keep being "pumped" for art).

Here's the post that I used for reference - pearlsaurus.blog9.fc2.com/blog… and here's another one that shows the process a bit different - pearlsaurus.blog9.fc2.com/blog…
I find it really hard to do color before lineart so I don't think I could follow his method totally

Oh my, dat Scizor. Seems like he is working with 1 layer. I may try experiment with those someday, looks interesting to experiment.

Thanks for the links.

I've never tried SAI myself, maybe it's an easier technique to do there

Certainly, blending is... spectacular in this software. And linearts, all hand shakes suddenly dissapears.

You can get free trial if you like.

But to be honest, I feel rather strange when I'm using SAI and I rarely use it for painting. I use it for drawings. Most paintings I do in GIMP, as it is my main program.

Sort of makes me want to try some more similar ones (maybe not in Pearl's style, but Denjuu using their signature moves is fun.)
