Description
More Telefang monsters! The naming system in Telefang 2 is kinda weird, every monster in an evolutionary chain has the same name, in this case all of the above monsters are called Raperousu. I mainly did these to try out my new colored pencils, but the scanner absolutely mauled my shading ;_;"" Plus I hate the blinding white background on here, ugh...Related content

The charecters look fun. Is it a hard game to find?

Depends on where you are, it's almost unheard of in the US but I think it's pretty popular in Brazil? Plus of course you can get it in Japan, I'm thinking of ordering some actual copies so I don't have to keep playing the bugged roms x_X

If you find a place online tobuy it, can you help me get a copy too. I have some talent with playing games that I can't read. Any help is really apreciated.((I'm not familiar with the title, so help finding a copy is kinda needed. At least I have money if you do find a place online selling copies))
What system is it for? I hope a copy wouldn't cost too much.

The full title is Keitai Denjuu Telefang, and it's for Gameboy Color. It was also translated into English and pirated as PokΓ©mon Diamond and "PokΓ©mon Jade". There used to be copies for sale on eBay but they were all taken off because they're not real PokΓ©mon games. "PokΓ©mon Diamond" is still available as a rom for download but Jade is not.
The monsters in this pic were from the sequel (Keitai Denjuu Telefang 2) which is for Gameboy Advance. Plus, there are two versions of each game, Power and Speed. There are a few monsters in each one that aren't available in the other, and in the first game the two versions had different starter monsters.
Any version is extremely hard to find a real copy of, I'm still looking around all over the place because I'd really like to actually play all of them and be able to trade monsters between versions and whatnot (can't do that with roms.) Also it'd make creating my monster indexes a lot easier ( [link] )

thats sad that the games are so hard to find. It actually sounds like a good series that would be worth translating. At least it can't be as bad as robopon

Personally I think the only reason the games weren't translated was because some of the items the monsters use to evolve include weapons -_-" Nevermind that they don't use them for anything else, and most of the other items are things like bubble gum and blenders and video cameras, somebody might see a PICTURE of a KNIFE! OH NOOOO

but... most games are fille with gore and violence.
Useless evolutionary items, thats pretty cool. At least it isn't a perfect pokeon ripoff *cough robopon cough* I want to play a gme that has bubble gum and blenders.
i know this is a hard question to answer cause it is lacking in the legal/moral department. but do you know where I could find roms of non translated versions somewhere? It looks amusing, but I have a feeling I will never be able to find a real copy.

If you want, I can email you all four roms (Telefang Power/Speed and Telefang 2 Power/Speed.) I know I probably shouldn't be freely offering those, but they are really really hard games to find actual copies of and I WOULD buy them if I could, I love 'em.

And MORE telefang fanart. o_o
I haven't gotten too far in 2. I really love the sea version, though...

I've gotten pretty far but am kinda stuck in this one dungeon place right after the Heruchika Desert (which I'm listening to the music for right now, it's my favorite in the game so far.) It's a friggin maze T-T And I STILL haven't finished the first game cos I'm stuck in the part after you fight Gawerk and are forced to lose (STUPID KOALA!)

Ooo, I especially like the Basic and Fusion 1 ones. XD The colouring is good too.. I like these Telefang monsters, they're interesting. Weird that they all have the same name though.

Yeah, Fusion 1's my favorite, no idea why it's sea creature though o_O" I mean, it's a furry winged quadruped ._.; Also, they each had different names in the original Telefang, and any monsters that were in that one kept their names in 2, but all the new monsters have "family" names. I don't get why they did that, but meh.

Doesn't look like a sea creature.. more looks like it would be.. fire related. XD Oh, that's strange.

RacieB In reply to stardroidjean [2005-04-23 18:17:52 +0000 UTC]
Well, their "type" is determined by their habitat, so you've got Sea, Woods, Sky, Rock, Grass, Marsh... I may be forgetting one... The types are a little different from the first game I think, but almost the same. Anyway, I've noticed a lot of Woods creatures have electricity-related powers, and Land tend to have fire, so attacks seem to be loosely matched with their types, but eh.

Ahh, interesting. Is there anyway of getting ahold of an english copy beside sbuying the fake ones on Ebay? XD

RacieB In reply to stardroidjean [2005-04-23 23:03:50 +0000 UTC]
Well, eBay stopped letting people sell them when they found out they were pirated games, I just have the rom versions... I figure since I can't play the Japanese versions and there aren't any real English ones, I'm not hurting anybody by playing shoddy translations on my own computer ;
...now I just need an excuse for the rest of my rom collection... >_>"""

Telefang... is that the game some people tried to make pirate badly translated copies of and call it Pokemon Diamond and Jade? Fantastic designs!
π: 0 β©: 1
RacieB In reply to caat [2005-04-22 15:29:40 +0000 UTC]
lol, yep, it is. Unfortunately that's all most people think of it, that its a bady translated PokΓ©mon hack, and not enough people realize it's a decent game on its own. Plus the pirated versions were bugged in a lot of ways the originals weren't, so anybody who's played those might have a bad impression of the games that would be inaccurate.

I'd love to play the proper version, but I don't suppose it was translated properly into English, was it? It was a fun game despite the mutilation the hackers did to it.

There was no actual English version made of either version, but Telefang 2 Power has a fan-made patch available. It's incomplete but workable (and has fun sayings like "HEY WHY YOU MAD") >_>
