Well, I'll agree that this does make sense in a certain way. Β Sightings of and attacks by a striped hyena (Poochyena and Mightyena's real life biological inspiration) in the French countryside did end up leading to the creation of a local werewolf legend:Β en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beast_ofβ¦

Wow, I love the detailed information about it. And the evolution really suits it. Mightyena is my favorite Dark Pokemon, second only to Umbreon.

If the opponent is the opposite gender of the user, they get attracted and 50% of the time they can't attack because they're too busy being in luuuurrve. The attraction fades on switchout of either PokΓ©mon. Pretty much every PokΓ©mon with a gender that can learn TMs can learn Attract.

that would so rock espeshally with the fighting type (its so underrated.brick break owns rock smash so hard)...
though for future refrence hyenas are not actually considered related to canine.they get their own special little group (yay)...not that it matters with pokemon.or if you really just done care...

I know Poochyena and Mightyena are based off hyenas, and that those are technically more closely related to cats than dogs if anything, but while I don't care about Poochy's species I really really prefer to think of Mightyena as a wolf ^^" My excuse is that they learn Howl, and also because I said so XP

Mightyena seems to be a mix of the Striped Hyena's physical appearance and the Spotted Hyena's tenacity. Additionally, African and Eurasian mythology describes cannibalistic creatures known as the werehyena. And while werewolves are usually portrayed as being originally human, the werehyena tend to be hyenas disguised as humans.
