I like the wide range of expressions that you've given the dragons, from the mocking sneer of the royals to the variously pained, determined and furious expressions of Iyress.
That torn membrane of Kither's looks painful D: Kinda hard for him to do much anyway, regardless of Iyress's appeals to him.
It's a great comic so far, I'd love to see more. ^^

He would probably do something but he's more logical in the sense he knows he can't do anything and may as well take the jail sentence and get free to plot revenge later than to just get murdered by acting out.

I forgot to ask, can Kither's species glide? From what I assume, she is going down, and it could help to land. But I wonder if her attempt is going to be futile (the whole runaway).

Kither is the longwing, Iyress is the Sparkclaw. ^^ But yeah, Sparkclaws can glide but that's all - any sort of attempt at powered flight is not going to work, though.

Might've not thought that she could break fire hot enough to weaken the chains so much - or could've been a defect. As they said, this was the 'first meeting in many years', so some practices could've been forgotten.

Well she might have not expected them to take the hatchling out - she starts melting the chains the instant she sees her hatchling is in danger, and attacks the king in rage, before being yanked off like that out of chain-melting-distance for Kither.
