Nope, not a joke! The lovely raven-2007 decided to very kindly commission me for the next page of Breakthrough.
I actually have had this page sketched for a long time, but I never got too far with it due to time constraints and lack of inspiration, which is why some elements may look a bit old. I did go back over the sketch, but I didn't want to change it drastically since the original style wasn't awful or anything.
Regardless, it's pretty cool to see Breakthrough in my newer style. I never forgot about this comic and I do still love it, it's just.... time. Blah.

Thank you Raven! It's so nice to see you back and I know the feeling. Keeping up a two week schedule to get my comic pages out gets daunting after awhile and but like I said in my status post: when life throws you under a bus....we just don't get all the time we need to finish on time plus responsibilities, etc. can make it even harder to get things through; thanks again and don't stress yourself, it's our worst enemy when doing art (any kind) like I did a year ago. I over stressed myself and the pages looked a little messy (gonna re-organize it after I finish the first part of the story) but after the mayor storm we suffered last year I realized my health and mental health are important so now I take a bit more time to upload a page that doesn't look rushed or messy (panels/things all over the place and fewer errors).

It is cool to see this zoomed-in on the computer... Looking at the claw-shadow on the ground and noticing that parts of the shadow are dark and sharp while other parts are blurry.... Noticing that the backgrounds is blurred like a photo-effect and that the found has a textured appearance beyond just being coloured brown.... Seeing the change in the lighting reflecting off the armour as you follow it around the curve of the neck. I'm sure this type of low light is tricky to consider when drawing. It all looks really nice, especially considering this is just a comic page

I'm glad to hear! I didn't want to stray too far from its roots, partly because my more detailed current style would take absolute ages to get through if I were to try to use it on everything haha. My style changes, of course, but I tried to keep that breakthrough feeling we all know
