Description
"El Γrbol" is a very old tree placed at the midle of a long avenue (built around it) in my city and near my mom's house. It is told that on that particular spot an old woman lived and even planted it, some believed she was a spiritual guide and even a witch, but when she died her spirit remained inside the roots. The tree never dries, it's always green, but some of the other plants around it does, just like u can see in the picture. The Tree lives in a median strip where anyone can walk, excercise and even rest on some of the benches placed randomly, while the moving cars come and go witnessing the citylife

This is so far out! That is aΒ schefflera, up here they are only house plants because they can't survive our winters. The trunk is great, I wish i could see it in person.

It's very cool. So unexpected to see in a city at 5,000 feet above sea level. So many cities in Mexico are at high elevations. DF = 5,000 feet, SLP = 6,000 feet.... I knew some people from SLP that talked about mangoes, avocados orange trees and palms.Β growing there. Anyplace in the US above 3,500 feet above sea lvel gets harsh, cold winters. Denver Colorado is at 5,000 feet, same as Guadalajara, but it has fierce cold winters and snow.... There is so much that is special in Mexico.
My freind is one of the best faux bois artists (trabajo rustico).  studiocortes.com/  His family came from Mexico about 100 years ago and have been doing that work ever since. His great-uncle, Dionisio Rodriguez has books written about him and his tree designs are so wild looking that I thought maybe he had been inspired by the schefflara he had seen in Mexico.ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I⦠But my friend said, no, it was El Arbol del Tule that inspired Rodriguez.
