Have you sewed them yourself? I don't have a single one yet, however in hopes for the great and sexy self-made BJD Itachi...

BJD? SELF-MADE? DOOOO WANT!!! I want to do one too, actually. I am studying how to do BJD and materials as we speak just to make myself an Itachi.

And no, I didn't sewed them. They are all official plushies.

Well in such a case, I can recommend you this book [link] "Yoshida style Ball Joint Dolls" - as I know the only step-to-step manual on the BJD creation. I have got my copy some weeks ago, and it is lovely indeed. This and there is a translation from Japanese on the net...
(Also a forum - [link] , however I have not been there enough to judge how useful my join at the joints has been.)

Otherwise it all begins with an amount of polymer clay you are able to get your hands upon to sculpt over the styropor core, and eventually the decision to bother with silicon/resin casting or not... There I am not certain, the shit feels like to become extremely expensive and who-knows-what quality. In the mentioned book the author leaves his dolls the polymer clay ones too...

Myself however is actually trying to begin with the model drawing part, the very first one of the process... My desire is Itachi, Sasuke and... Hikari. As far I know there are not any official bjds of those three so far:-P

Would love to learn how you progress with your project.
