Hair is very interesting. Hair highlights appear where hair bends. When I posed mai's hairΒ I focused on getting all bends roughly right. To illustrate, there are many ways hair can be put behind shoulders, but if you want some highlights on it, it is key the hair bends. In this pic her hair bends forward and make U-turn before retreating behind her left shoulder line.Β
What I want to say is that hair is both a material and pose problem.
Edit: No photoshop. Pose + anisotropic shader = final look.
