""random hyper-ness""

M'yes, but as a kid who has ADHD and has experienced consequences caused by it, I can say it's more than just hyper-ness.. or in your case "hpyer-ness". While I was in public school, I always had trouble listening to our teachers when they were telling us what to do and how to do it, I just zone out when they started talking. And when we got started, I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. They probably thought I had autism or something. I'm so glad I got pulled outta public school, and went into home school instead.
(EDIT) I also keep forgetting what I was gonna search, or what I was typing, because I'm always zoning out in the middle of what I was doing, and I always have trouble thinking of what to put next.

But in my opinion I don't really see it as a bad thing, 'cause it's kind of comfortable when your brain is taking a break, it's like relaxing your muscles, but that's probably just me. And school brainwashes you to be the same as everyone else anyway, so..

it's awesome that you support us but it's more then just "random hyper-ness", being hyper is part of it but it also makes it hard for you to focus on anything that doesn't stimulate your brain, which gets you in trouble at school a lot and makes people think you're ignoring them when really it's very hard to control it. it also makes it hard to control impulses and hard to stay still for a long time. and after a while you feel like you HAVE to stand up and walk/run around or you'll go crazy, which makes people think you're weird.

You're an awful and disgusting human being. You'll never know the pain of having ADHD. It's not about being hyperactive. It's about not being able to control you own mind. You have a five-page essay due next week. You procrastinate and put it off. Wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow turns into the day before it's due. You become frantic and have your brain dead-set on doing your work. Soon, your mind begins to drift off and suddenly the remote is in your hand. "I'll just take a little break!" You said. You wake up the next day, realizing you've done nothing at all.

Thank you for this stamp!

One thing I would like to take into account -- it especially irks me with the stereotype that people who live with ADHD are stupid and scatterbrained. It may be true that we have issues zoning out and it's virtually impossible for us remain focused on one topic for an extensive amount of time, but as far as I've observed it's actually a sign of above average intelligence. I've even read posts and discussions talking about the link between ADHD and above average IQ.Ā

I've also observed with myself that because of our 'scatterbrains' we're able to take interest in more than one topic. We actually become hyperfocused and want to know exactly what goes on all over the world. We're that interested, and it may sound like a shocker to the others but at least me being hit with ADHD, this is exactly what I experience. Just decided to talk a little bit about myself. :3

You all don't realize that ADHD can be really hard emotionally. I actually LOOK FORWARD taking the pills in the morning so I don't humiliate myself by acting like a complete IDIOT and embarrassing myself in front of my friends! To those who don't take their condition seriously and don't take their pills can just SHUT UP!

I have just been diagnosed with ADHD and the drugs are necessary, yes they are drugs and I'd prefer to, on the most part, be without it, but when it comes to school I need or else I can't get notes done or pay attention and stuff. But yeah, for kids, I think it's better to let their mind be free and let themselves be themselves. However, if it continues to be a real problem in high school or maybe even middle school, I'd let them decide what the best solution would be. It's everyone's single decision whether they really need the medicene or not.

I just don't like either side that says, "Kid's shouldn't be taking this drug" and "Kids NEED this drug!" Their both stupid, it's the individuals decision when they get to that age where they can think, as in middle school or highschool. Until then, it's the parents decision. Let people do what they want and what they need.

Without me taking the pill I'm completely anti-social, and I can't get any information I need to get passing grades. It just depends on the person

I have ADHD. it's hard to deal with. But I rather do it without pills. I hate the effects and side effects they have. and sometimes they don't do anything anyway.

I got ADHD and I don't got a problem of talking about it. But when i tell people it, they are like: Oh! ok... and then there are some kind of akward silence. But its not some kind of tabu for me, and if people have questions, they can just ask me.
