Description Hello again! This is the third stop on the Hi-Fi tour, The Shen! As you can probably guess, this was my most time-consuming project yet! All in all this exercise taught me how to use effects (primarily glows). It was great practice for textures too, having wings, scales, and fur, so if you're looking for a challenge you've got one! Though it was a bumpy ride, getting to the finished product has left me feeling very happy, and hopefully you agree!

Sky and image in the sign above the dragon wing were provided by Brian Miller, the rest was all me!

Thank you very much! You know, I had the same problem, I owned the book for over a year before I forced myself to do anything with it, and then when I did, I started at the Sherlock Hound tutorial but then got frustrated when it didn't turn out the same way as the book's example. After that, I just moved on to the ones I liked the most. That may help you out if you're only doing the tutorials to gain the experience. If you post any that you do I'd love to take a look at them!

Haha, I told you didn't I?! I'm pretty sure that this was truly the hardest tutorial in the book...top three atleast! I still don't get the logic behind the tiger-hame-ha but I can roll with it!

It looks freaking awesome. Is this the one with the neon or or did you skip that to do this one? Most of that conversation kind of got sidetracked...The glows remind me somewhat of neon lights and just wondered.

I know what you mean...tangents are our strong points. This one was the same one and you're right those are neon lights. The red bilboard was painted two shades of blue before it became red, and that confused me...the purple ones under Dragon man's arm were like brick red or gray...I was planning to post the flat colored version so you should see it, it's weird. Still, I'm very excited about this piece. If it's not my most viewed post it's definitely second. All I'm wondering is why hawkgirl got screwed in the whole deal! Where's her Ben 10/Bleach laser shooting power?!
