jien-an! i don't normally do static portraits like this but it suits him.Jien had been taken in by buddhist monks in the mountains, who found his sorry monster ass blind, injured and dying. They taught him a lot, but all the meditation and prayer coudn't keep the lust for violence and revenge out of him. He left to seek the creature that blinded him and beat him to hell. Jien still sometimes uses the techniques the monks gave him, but he's not a very good buddhist. the monks wouldn't approve of him punching people with his prayer beads, no sir.

For your new coloring style this looks very nice. The Red in his ear ring and prayer beads are a very very nice color and add nicely to it overall.
You have shading on his body though, is there no reason for highlights or are they very light/small and i am just being blind?
His scars as well look like they wer just pasted on there, and I noticed with other features you outlined it with a darker (not much) skin tone, maybe you could try that with his scars as well?
I'm sorry if tis is not the kind of crit you want (after reading your journal earlier) if not just ignore it totally understandable.

thanks! it's true that i am bad at scars. i probably should have spent more time trying to make it look better, but man i am impatient. i will have to try different techniques.
