(DOWNLOAD FOR 1000x640 :'D)I'm trying to learn how to draw scenery/environments better.. this here be one of my experiments. I find I can get the general lighting and composition down, but when I comes to adding in the details... I fail at that xD I try, but the details don't look as good as the implied strokes that came before 'em. So.. I spatter some random brushes, slap a texture on, aaaaand yeh... Needa work on that.
When I painted this, I had a forest near my home in mind.. a tiny ravine, not very big. When I was little I used to go on crazy adventures in that forest and make forts and stuff... good times.

Was this done in Photoshop, and do you remember how you did the texture along the path?

yes indeed this was done in Photoshop my good chap! The texture along the path was ultimately done using a combination of brushes and layer overlays, probably.. though the main brush for it, I'm pretty sure, is found in the Default Brushes list and is called 'Chalk'. I hope that helps!

Random brushes or not, it's beautimous! ^^ I like this kind of background, actually. ^^ It sort of reminds me of a prettier, more mystical version of one of my own attempts at scenery. >.o;

Oooh, dude, its gorgeous!
Such a pretty combo of green, pale yellow and bits of blue and orange accents. Makes it really mystical and actually really realistic. It really draws you in. Like its the path to....happiness. x]
