all the emos with "depression" have made it look so stupid and cringy
i can't take it seriously.
whenever someone says they have depression i don't believe them now, because of the special little snowflakes

I think it'd be more constructive to have something of a "Schrodinger's Cat" attitude towards people who say they're depressed rather than dismissing it outright. Doubting someone who is legitimately depressed causes more pain than believing someone who isn't.
I understand being frustrated with people jumping on a bandwagon for attention, but be careful how you convey that. I know too many people who bottle up their feelings because they're terrified of being seen as attention seeking liars. (That used to be me super bad! I still do it to an extent.)Β
