Scott and i have been acquainted for a number of years with me being the person who fixes all his leather gear. Scott is 50 has a teenage kid, is divorced, is a gay bear leatherman, and has been hiv positive for 20 years. Most importantly he is a warm caring person. He tends to travel a lot and supports the gay bear scene all over the world. This shoot was kind of hurried because he was flying out the next day to the National Australian bears competition and was W.A's entrant. I tend to appreciate and respect people who can let themselves be their own individual and i count myself lucky to be a friend of his. Wow, I feel dumb... I don't know what a bear is... other then an actual bear. Even though I don't know anything about that, I do believe that everyone should have the right to be who they are. Nobody should be forced to hide it. That would not be an easy way to live.

I have found that most bears are the nicest, warmest, most open people you will ever meet. In fact, there is one walking around right now with a tattoo I drew out for him. (Having met him five minutes before..) That, however, is a story for another day.

Yep it is his play kilt. Although i suspect it does not always stay on for very long. An amusing story is that i fixed the buckle for him before such a party not knowing that the buckle on a kilt faces the other way to a normal buckle. Supposedly he was the life of the party because his kilt kept on randomly falling down.
