Description Just a little picture inspired by the events in this severely tried land. I would like to show my support to the brave people there.

In the spring Ukrainian airborne units started to push the russians.

All done in photoshop in some 5 evenings after the study of BMD-2 photos.

Oh right. The EU and NATO totally doesn't go around and destroy third world countries who defy their will. They totally didn't bomb the living hell out of Yugoslavia and destroy the country and they totally haven't got any blood on their hands. *sarcasm* Russia has been playing the smart role here, they've kept their cool and they've suffered slander from ignorant morons who just believe everything that the western media spoon feed them. I don't doubt that the Russian government is extremely corrupt, but you're out of your mind if you think that those idiots in Kiev are any better.

You support a government that murdered journalists with mortars and tortured them, a government that murdered its own civillians and oppressed its own people in ways that are only comparable to nazi germany. Don't make me laugh, I know people who live in the East of Ukraine and I've heard exactly what kind of horrors they've had to suffer under the Ukrainian army. The EU has been pulling the strings here and trying to bully Ukraine into its already destitute economy because like a parasite it needs yet another host to suck blood from.

Oh Yugoslavia, you mean that country where the regime was practically exterminating its own people who were of a different ethnic group? Yeah great to let that happen on our doorstep...

Russia SMART? Ha you're deluded. Russia couldn't have done much more stupid than they have already done. They illegally annexed Crimea, they lied that it was their troops there, they lied about tanks being sent to Ukraine despite there being strong evidence to show this, they lied about the reason for the military build up on the border (which itself was a childish bit of posturing that impressed nobody), they lied about militants coming from Russia into Eastern Ukraine etc etc. Prior to the whole conflict they banned pork exports from the EU on trumped up health and safety concerns, they banned Ukraines largest food exports to them with the same reason, they have now banned Polish exports on health concerns as well as French produce etc. They have now passed a bill severely limiting internet freedom by demanding anyone who has over 3000 followers of any sort register for a license to speak out otherwise it's considered illegal, they conveniently offered a large "loan" to Ukraine when Yanukovic was in power that conveniently coincided with him rejecting closer ties to the EU.

That list isn't even complete and that's only for the last 5 years! You really want to defend this nation? Russia is a cesspit of corruption with many people who haven't accepted the USSR is gone. They want Russia to start bullying their neighbours again and have discovered that Europe is not the pushover it was 50 years ago. Now the EU and US are pushing back against Russia and Russia is trying to play the victim. They have not yet said a single thing that has turned out to be true and there is no reason to believe they will start doing so any time soon.

Yeah because living in a country is definitely the only way to talk about it. Your "free media" in Russia should give you all the government approved info you need. You think you Russians understand? You lot are deluded. In polling the vast majority of Russians thought the world would see Russia and Putin in a more favourable light after Crimea, the truth is that most nations in the world view Russia and Putin worse than before, shows you Russians don't have a clue.

I live in the UK and I can hear people telling me how immigrants have swarmed over here and taken our unemployment benefits, our jobs, our women, our cheese etc. Does that in any way reflect what is ACTUALLY happened? 99.9% of Russians don't live anywhere near to what is going on and thus their only knowledge is dun dun dun through their media! Unless you want to claim hearsay and chinese whispers are an accurate source of information, Russian's knowledge of what is happening is through the media just like mine is. The difference is Russia is well known for media censorship and government control of the media whilst Britain is recognised as having on of the freest media in the world.

qpu3uk In reply to Ragerancher [2014-08-07 21:23:57 +0000 UTC]

They keep telling that and you believe.
No such thing as "free media" can exist in the modern world.

And does your "free media" tells you people run from evil russian terrorists?
I assure you, the most important source of facts in Russia isn't some TV channel, it's just native people of Ukraine.
You guys out there don't quite understand that those two countries were part of one for not only 20th century but centuries before, known as Rus.
Even that idea of nazism looks absurd since there are no such thing as "ukrainian" or "russian" by now, there's just nothing to divide. A lot of russian families have their close relatives or friends in Ukraine. Imagine how, for example, a phone call from your cousin should make you feel if it's all tears and panic after another military bombard.

Your media is planning on banning the BBC Russian site for a satire by a Russian that was posted on the BBC. No Russian news sources are blocked in the UK. You lot are fucking deluded.

The native of Ukraine want you out too. No our free media has not called the Russians or even the seperatists terrorists you idiot. You think Ukrainians are Russians? Shows how deluded you are.

Nice try buddy, you just repeat everything you see on the BBC without doing any serious research. Those forces in Crimea were there since the fall of the Soviet Union under a lease with the Ukrainian governments and they made a killing off the Russian taxpayer because of it. But the BBC and all the rest of the right wing press have brainwashed you ignorant poor Russophobic morons into thinking that those forces invaded without properly verifying any of the facts. You're just a bigot when it really comes down to it.

You're like the rest of these interventionist bastards who think that going into other countries and bombing their civillians and bringing "democracy" to them actually helps them. Go say that to all the children and the rest who died because of your naive idea of "helping others". You've got no idea how wrong you are, nor are you interested in knowing what's really wrong with your own mentality. They said that Saddam had WMD's but there was no proof of that, even the US state department later admitted the fault. They took out that monster Gaddafi and they brought Libya to complete and utter ruin because of the warlords who rule it now. Syria would also be worse off because they wanted to let organ eating animals take over from an already brutal enough bastard we all know as Assad. Yugoslavia was nowhere near the UK, so it's not "on our doorstep" as you say.

Russia could have started an invasion and had every justification for it, yet they're the ones who ended up holding back. They're the ones who ended up humiliating the western governments in front of the >educated< portion of the populace who actually think for themselves instead of just believing everything they see on TV. Russia's military interventions have been done within the framework of international law (and I still disagree with what they did), whereas the fucking bastards who you support simply go around hunting for oil in everyone else's backyard. Democracy spread at gunpoint and unilateral fascism.

You can say anything you have to about Yuankovich, but he didn't say he wanted to reject the part about joining the EU. If you actually read the terms of Ukraine's ascension it would have been nothing short of economic suicide, or have you so easily forgotten how this ill-trodden empire of ours has fallen apart and how the right wing parties are mobilizing all over the show? The EU will collapse just like the USSR did. They weren't offering the Ukrainians anything better other than a guaranteed road to hell. If Ukraine wants to be free and independent then perhaps they should consider not joining either the EU or Russia and simply remain neutral. The third option is often overlooked, because 'people' like you are too busy spreading fear mongering lies.

Notice how you also conveniently forget the part about how when Yuankovich used the police against those saboda extremists who hijacked an otherwise peaceful protest against his own despicable government, the west said this behaviour was "horrifying and disgusting". But now when their prostitute poreshenko used THE FUCKING MILITARY AGAINST CIVILIANS, then suddenly "oh, no problem here." You'd have to have mental impairments of an unbelievable kind to not be able to see the sheer hypocrisy in this. Oh, and when the Ukrainian army shells the Rostov region and kills Russian nationals in their own territory... "oh, no problem here."

It's worthless speaking to people who should otherwise be very intelligent and choose to follow their gut instead of doubting everything that they hear. Stop watching the news and start taking a serious look at what independent journalists say and what people who have no fucking affiliation to the propaganda machines of either the Russians or the West have to say.

Until that time - you have blood on your hands. Because you support mass murder unless you actively denounce the crimes of the current regime in Ukraine. I'm not going to reply to ignorant hate mongering morons like you again. It's like speaking to a brick wall.

Excellent illustration. I feel sorry for everyone concerned. Especially the civilians hiding in the cellar of their home near by. This has now progressed into the 'summer games', but winter is coming. I guess there are not many repairmen going about. War looks glorious, but mostly innocent people pay the price.
