Description
Another cross-stitch! I was first inspired to do something Lord of the Rings related, and then I was further inspired by ~Arakni666 's awesome new(ish) tattoo. For those that don't know, it reads "One Ring to rule them all, one ring to find them" and it's the first half of the inscription on the One Ring. Maybe some day I'll stitch the whole thing.
The writing is about 6in wide and a little over 2.5in tall. Done in one sitting, it took between 3.5 and 4 hours.
I'll post better pictures of my needlework once I get them ironed and maybe framed, too.
*EDIT* It's been framed! Unfortunately, it's still pretty bumpy cause the iron I used was having difficulties.

Beautifully done. Β did you ever digitize a pattern for this?

Thank you! You know, I never did actually did digitize the pattern.. But I really should, now that I have better programs to do so. I've been wanting to update this pattern, too, and maybe include the entire inscription.

I originally made the pattern with pencil and paper, but I could try creating it digitally if you'd like. And thanks for the favorite!

I'm so glad you think so! I'll work on making a digital pattern of it this weekend and upload it here. Hopefully it shouldn't take me long.

Ash nazg durbatulΓ»k,
Ash nazg gimbatul,
Ash nazg thrakatulΓ»k
Agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.
One ring to rule them all,
One ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all,
and in the darkness bind them.
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne,
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie,
One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

On a purely geeky level... I think this is amazing & I am pretty jealous that you thought of it first!
It's beautifully done though, I had to do a double take to see that it really is cross-stitched, not a print. Great job!

Thanks so much! This one was a lot of fun to plan out and stitch. Took forever to get the pattern to look right, though!

Wonderful idea! Beautifully stitched ^-^ The colours in the frame really suit it and I like your choice of cream/ecru Aida.

Thank you! It was pretty fun to come up with the pattern. That frame was a pretty lucky find, I thought with the cream and the nature of the piece that it would look nice.

Pretty cool, I like the frame too. You should stitch the ring in the background to give it some color

Thanks! I considered stitching more, but I was afraid it would get too complex if I tried to add a border or a picture. Besides with my current limited resources and actual artistic ability, I don't think I could do the ring justice if I tried to stitch it!

Heh, I thought you'd like it. It was fun to stitch, and didn't take too long, either, for one sitting. And of course you did! It's your tattoo that made me think of it, after all.
