Description
Here's a portion of an ode to the boys of Kill Hannah that I do eventually plan to finish. I actually drew this about 6/20 or so, but I wasn't planning on procrastinating on the pic...so here's the lead singer's section in the corner of my sketchbook. The rest will go around the page and their targeted heart symbol will go in the middle, in some way or another...So yeah
, I'm proud of it. It's from the sleeve of their CD For Never and Ever. Tis all.

They are pretty nice guys. I love how intelligent Mat is. Did you ever read the tour blog he did for Fuse (the t.v network). It is witty as hell and ridiculously funny. If you haven't read it, I will link ya.

Holy shit, this look fantastic. You did an amazing job illustrating one of my favorite vocalists.
Do you have KH's unreleased stuff? If not...I could hook you up with some great unheard tracks. Like...a fantastic alternative demo of Nerve Gas or Kill Hannah. Or a great song called Big Shot. Or Courageous. Etc. Some of their best work hasn't been released on an album. So if there is KH material you want a copy of, shoot me a message on here and I will hook you up.

Oh wow, thank you. ^^ Perhaps I will. I did do this particular shot off a picture, but noses were the hardest, most pain-in-the-ass feature on the face.

Ah, I hope he likes/liked it. It's very well done. I know, because I can't draw realism with a crap. DX
But it's really fun seeing them in concert. I've seen them twice when they were in Madison, WI. They are so pleasant about meeting the fans! I gave Mat a drawing that I made on the drive to seeing them the first time, waaaaay back in April. He squealed and hugged me and told me I was awesome and hugged me. Even though it was just a crappy cartoonish doodle. It had me grinning all the way home. I swear I was grinning in my sleep for the next few days. In July, I gave Greg just a folder of the KH doodles I drew in the days prior to the concert.
Anyway, enough of my rambling! May I ask what you used for the materials? I was thinking pencils, but his hair seems to be maybe... charcoal?

I used various pencils. His hair was basically a charcoal pencil, it's a really thick soft lead pencil that's 8B I believe.

His eyes look a bit off to me, but I still find this piece amazing.
I've tried drawing him myself and seem to find some difficulty with his eyes as well.

He has such quirky features, but that's what made him incredibly fun to draw. I have to do the rest of the boys. I plan to give him the original when I see them in January. ^_^

January 14th they'll be in Lancaster PA. That's where I live so I gets to see them again. I am happy. I don't know if you've ever seen them live, but after their set, atleast as an opening act, they walk around and talk to fans. I have pics with them and such...I think they're in my scraps...but yeah, Greg even manned the souvenir booth. I bought my shirt from him. ^_^

oh, I saw them in Toronto and got to meet them Of course they were opening band (which was hilarious) because the security gaurd was like "Are you excited to see MSI?". My friend and I just looked at each other and went "haha, NO. KILL HANNAH! THEY'RE SO AMAZING".
When they came on we were the only people who knew ALL the lyrics and sang along. Mat kept looking over and smiling at us, and the security gaurd had this huge smile because we were so happy.
I've never cried at a concert, but I shed some tears (not alot, haha. I was just so happy).
Haha and we were by the merch looking at photos we took. Whe greg walked in we just stopped, gasped and went "oh my god". Haha yeah.
Now, I've convinced my mom for the Buffalo show

Yeah, that's like, exactly what happened at the Pittsburgh concert. My friend and I were the only ones singing along and Mat was smiling and winking at us too. It was lovely. ^_^
