Description
THERE WILL BE HELL TO PLAY- The Four Horsemen’s ventures don’t always start or end the same way. As stated in their introductory article, some Spirit Kingdoms are monitored for disruptions by the very faction that the Four Horsemen hail from. The Weird Zenith, a ‘nomadic omniverse’ that travels to other omniverses for -redacted- purposes, has strict rules with causing mayhem in any realms playing their host.
- The quartet of Weird Zenith entities who have disobeyed those rules in order to go on their needless quest must remain vigilant. If their associates in the Weird Zenith detect them causing another scene, their crusade to remake all Spirit Kingdoms will be over.
- Thankfully for them, one of the more senior Weird Zenith members has tabs on where and how his colleagues are looking out for shenanigans. Josh’s ‘Fragment’ might be enjoying his role as the Exgriseo Togabito’s Horseman of Death, but his Primary Manifestation is still active within the Weird Zenith itself, and thus it is Josh’s ‘main self’ who feeds his ‘offshoot self’ vital information.
- Further details are confidential, but the gist is that each Spirit Kingdom has varying levels and methods of Weird Zenith observation. Before even thinking of invading a Spirit Kingdom, the Four Horsemen must bind themselves to rules and protocols of Josh’s specifications, all of which are recorded in what is called the Taboo Compendium.
- Because failure to abide by said specifications risks exposing them to Weird Zenith law enforcers (who will not look kindly upon the unprovoked invasions of Spirit Kingdoms), the Four Horsemen make their bindings to the Taboo Compendium absolute, with a failsafe built in that ejects them out of the Space-Time Continuum and Akashic Records of a targeted Spirit Kingdom in case of emergencies.
- It’s rare for the Taboo Compendium of one Spirit Kingdom to be identical to another’s. However, over time, generalized classifications can be made about how challenging or regulated an incursion into a foreign Spirit Kingdom will be, and those ‘classifications’ have been sorted out into ‘Tiers’.
- Unrestricted Tier: The Barathrum Stronghold can be effortlessly modified on demand, and its parameters exceed all interdimensional borders. No size limits to the Spiritual Vacuum of Exgriseo. Zero dilution of all Sins and Virtues, and to previous COALition Legacies. Exgriseo numbers may reach a couple dozen thousands. No special handicaps in effect, and the rules and mechanics of the resident Spirit Kingdom may be ignored entirely, including all 'Absolute Truths'.
- Casual Tier: The Barathrum Stronghold can be easily modified on demand, and its parameters encompass all of Hell, with only a slight spillover into other Realms, such as Soul Society or Hueco Mundo. Spiritual Vacuums must not exceed the totality of Spiritual Pressure within the target Spiritual Kingdom when 'at rest'. Slight dilution of all Sins and Virtues, and to previous COALition Legacies. Exgriseo Numbers may reach into the low thousands. One or two special handicaps in effect, and selective compliance with the rules and mechanics of the resident Spirit Kingdom is encouraged.
- Standard Tier: The Barathrum Stronghold’s modifications require effort, but it encompasses all of Hell, albeit with no spillover into other Realms. Spiritual Vacuums must not exceed Godlike Levels when 'at rest'. Mild dilution of all Sins and Virtues, and to previous COALition Legacies. Exgriseo Numbers may reach into the high hundreds. A few special handicaps are possibly in effect, and serious compliance with the rules and mechanics of the resident Spirit Kingdom is expected.
- Moderate Tier: The Barathrum Stronghold’s modifications are painstaking, and it encompasses only up to half of Hell domain, which usually means up to three to four ‘Floors’ of Hell. Spiritual Vacuums must not exceed Vast Levels when 'at rest'. Significant dilution of all Sins and Virtues, and to previous COALition Legacies. Exgriseo numbers may reach only a few dozen. Many special handicaps are possibly in effect, and full compliance with the rules and mechanics of the resident Spirit Kingdom is expected.
- Difficult Tier: The Barathrum Stronghold may not be modified, and it encompasses only a portion of a single Floor of Hell. Spiritual Vacuums must not exceed Immense Levels at when 'at rest'. Heavy dilution of Sins and Virtues, and to COALiton Legacies. Exgriseo numbers are barely in the tens. Special handicaps abound, and total compliance with the rules and mechanics of the resident Spirit Kingdom is expected.
- Impossible Tier: The Barathrum Stronghold cannot be created. Spiritual Vacuums must not exceed High Levels at when 'at rest'. Thorough dilution of all Sins and Virtues, and only the Four Horsemen access COALition Legacies. Native Togabito may not be redeemed to don the mantle of Exgriseo. Total compliance to the authority of the resident Spirit Kingdom is mandatory.
- Forbidden Tier: The Spirit Kingdom is being actively guarded by agents of the Weird Zenith for disruptions by their delinquent members. Invasion is out of the question, although covert trips are still a viable prospect.
- Ironically, the Unrestricted Tier is the least-invaded by the Four Horsemen. Yes, it’s tempting to bowl over all resistance and consume an entire Spirit Kingdom in less than half the time it would take to cook a burger, but the Four Horsemen know that their rampaging might come back to haunt them in the future. Spirit Kingdoms in the Unrestricted Tier are technically in the blind spot of the Weird Zenith, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
- The track record of attempted invasions (and which one of those ended in success or failure) is known only to the Four Horsemen. Josh will admit that, in an omniverse of infinite Spirit Kingdoms, he and his partners in crime have barely made a difference, and in a way, it’s all for the best. Their covert mission might be ceaseless, and in many ways, futile, but at least they have free reign to go about their business.
- For reasons only to the Four Horsemen, however, there is one thing that seems to be a constant no matter which Spirit Kingdom they travel to. Adventures and conflicts may vary, and the new friends (or enemies) they make are left behind whenever move on to a new Spirit Kingdom. Yet, oddly enough, their bond with eight distinct persons seem to follow them no matter where they wander.
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
- It comes as no surprise that familiar faces and scenarios are present in a boundless multitude of Realities and Alternate Realities making up an omniverse. And while the Four Horsemen certainly don’t mind facing enemies who’ve they’ve ‘practiced’ beating, they’re more likely to appreciate allies who they’ve ‘synergized’ with time and time again. This is because a certain eight of those recurring allies are the most well-suited to receiving the Legacies of the Exgriseo’s former empire. Details of that empire, which was a ‘plagiarized’ version of the COALition established by the Weird Zenith, are had to come by, and only an inkling of it may be found in another article. However, the focus for now will be on two particular subsections of the COALition, and their relevance will be elaborated on shortly.
- The Omnis Fullbringers made up the ‘O’ of the COALition. As quoted from the Exgriseo introductory article, “Regular Fullbringers were Spiritually-Attuned humans who gained unusual abilities in the womb after their parents came into contact with Hollows during the pregnancy period. Fullbringers could attune their souls with the ‘souls’ present in everything around them, including that of inanimate objects. Occasionally, a Fullbringer might be so attuned with an item that their souls would resonates, and that item (if boosted by the soul of a Fullbringer) would in turn gain extraordinary abilities of its own. Siegfried’s method of manufacturing Fullbringers brought pregnant woman into contact not with Hollows, but with Coronatus.”
- Now, the creation of Coronatus is lost to the Exgriseo, but the ability to birth Omnis Fullbringers is not. E’thn, the Horseman of Pestilence, is the last remaining Coronatus, and like all Coronatus he is a product of multiple ‘Crystallizations of Myth and Legend’ made flesh and cross-bred with each other. E’thn himself is a mixture of (formerly) magical human and multiple species of Cosmic Eldritch Abominations. Fullbringers sired by him could attune their soul with more than objects alone. Omnis Fullbringers could draw upon events, locations, other persons, logics, et cetera, via what they referred to as Omnis ‘Affinities’. The greater an Omnis Fullbringer ‘Resonated’ with an ‘Affinity’, the greater they could benefit and influence each other. The more ‘Affinities’ were simultaneously active, the more exponential the boost to the Omnis Fullbringer’s overall power via a status called 'Alignment'. And while ordinary Fullbringers could not further evolve their abilities once they reach the ‘Completed’ stage, Omnis Fullbringers were free to endlessly advance their repertoire. It was common for Omnis Fullbringers to develop their control over the souls within Kishi (physical matter, as opposed to Reishi, or spiritual matter) to such an extent that their dominion over The World of the Living became unchallenged, pulling off feats like near-instantaneous conversions between materials and energies. The basic Techniques of Fullbringers are also brought to a whole new level of transcendence in the hands of an Omnis Fullbringer, an example of which is the Bringer Light being upgraded into the Bringer Glint, which opens wormholes for warp-speed teleportation instead of merely accelerating its user’s movement.
- The Lichtdunkel Quincy made up the ‘L’ of the COALition. As quoted from the Exgriseo introductory article, “Regular Quincy were, like the Fullbringers, Spiritually-Attuned humans. Unique to them, though, was a great proficiency with the direct manipulation of Reishi, which was mentioned earlier as the basic building block for the non-mundane dimensions of the Spirit Realms. In fact, the domains of the Shinigami the Hollow are usually comprised completely out of Reishi. Quincy could break down all Spirit Matter to its purest and most basic forms, and then bend it to their will.”
- Siegfried, the Horseman of War, liked the idea Quincy so much that he went out of his way to endow his version of them with several enhancements. First, was the ability to spare souls from destruction. Normal Quincy would disrupt the Balance of Souls whenever they killed a spiritual entity, whereas the Lichtdunkel did not have this problem. Second, was a titanic boost to the Quincy’s ability to manipulate Reishi. The Lichtdunkel Quincy used this in tandem with the knowledge of theoretical physics implanted into them by Siegfried, consequently gaining command over Reishi in ways only the most advanced spacefaring civilizations could boast; the creation of Reishi and Anti-Reishi even became child’s play. Third, was a complete overhaul of the Quincy: Vollständig and the Quincy: Letzt Stil techniques – the two could now be chained into each other, and neither one would cause permanent harm to their users. Fourth, was a rework of the Schrift System that granted Quincy unique powers that reflect their nature. Lichtdunkel Quincy could possess multiple Schrifts under Siegfried’s Wortschatz System, still dependant on their soul’s gestalt, and now as well as which Battalions Siegfried had sorted them into. If the letters attached to those Schrifts formed ‘words’ or even ‘sentences’, then all the better.
- The ‘C’ subsection of the Coalition (the Coronatus) is extinct, and the ‘A’ subsection (the Angels of Hell; Artificial Togabito constructed out of Artificial Souls called Gikon, used to rescue Sinners) has been remade into the current Exgriseo Togabito faction that the Four Horsemen lead. And yet, the Omnis Fullbringers and Lichtdunkel Quincy do make frequent comebacks. As mentioned earlier in this section, the Four Horsemen have a penchant for bumping into ‘copies’ of close friends with each new Spirit Kingdom they travel to. Some say that’s mere coincidence. Others say that some bonds are so strong, they transcend all borders. In the Four Horsemen’s opinion, there may be others like them in the Weird Zenith who secretly share their cause but are unable to help them openly.
- These individuals have been dubbed as the Eight Squires of the Apocalypse. Because their connection to the Four Horsemen is so automatic and seamless, only the Eight Squires are guaranteed to be a suitable match for immediate COALition ‘imprinting’. The Four Horsemen save a ‘template’ of their Squires whenever they leave a Spirit Kingdom, and if they meet up with Alternate Reality versions of those Squires, they may ‘imprint’ the latter with the essences and characteristics of the former. This means that although the Four Horsemen are the only ones among the Exgriseo who can hop from Reality to Reality (with a few exceptions), the odds are good that they won’t be friendless.
- Of course, all Taboo Compendiums don’t seem to do is prevent the Four Horsemen from acquiring their Squires from a new Spirit Kingdom. That doesn’t mean recipients for the ‘templates’ of Squires are readily present. There are occasions when the Four Horsemen enter a Spirit Kingdom during a spot of its timeline when the persons who could be their Squires have not been born yet – or have been long dead. Furthermore, if the persons suitable to be their Squires are not already Togabito in a Spirit Kingdom’s Hell, the Four Horsemen must decide whether they want to perform a Condemnation, and that is a decision that can give them pause, especially if their target is an innocent person. Fortunately, in most cases, obtaining the hosts for Squire ‘templates’ isn’t too big of a hassle, due to the Four Horsemen’s habit of carefully scouting out Spirit Kingdoms before attempting to establish a foothold.
- The relevance of the Legacies of the Omnis Fullbringers and the Lichtdunkel Quincy is found in the fact that all the Horsemen’s Squires are always either one of the two. The capabilities and potency of all Squires scale accordingly to the Four Horsemen and the Taboo Compendium Tier of the Spirit Kingdom they in question, but for the most part their incarnations possess consistencies. What follows are snippets of the Four Horsemen’s Squires as would be found in a Standard Tier Spirit Kingdom.
CAVALRY OF WHITE
[Template ‘Bellatrice’]
- Appears as a tall, slender woman with an extremely long, chestnut-brown ponytail. Has a noticeable French accent.
- If encountered as an unredeemed Togabito in Hell, Bellatrice is usually decked in haggard piles of fur, and has a scathing, complaining attitude. Otherwise, or when redeemed into an Exgriseo Togabito, she opts for clean, form-fitting dresses, and her personality is playful, slightly flirtatious, and demure.
- Bellatrice will often wind up in Hell due to a chain of murdered husbands; she will charm some wealthy chap, and a few years after kinto marriage, a terrible ‘accident’ will befall her spouse and/or any children she may have. Naturally, Bellatrice will inherit her deceased family’s riches.
- When her wrongdoings are literally erased from her past as part of the Exgriseo redemption procedure, Bellatrice first act is to watch over the families she had wronged. While it’s true that the actions of the Four Horsemen will have created a new timeline where she did not commit murders, once transformed into a Sinner-Saint, Bellatrice will feel the urge to express unrequited love.
- As the Left-Hand Squire of the Horseman of Pestilence and a Lichtdunkel Quincy, Bellatrice is widely regarded as one of the best long-ranged duelists among the Eight Squires of the Apocalypse, as well as the second-best Summoner.
- Her Spiritual Vacuum tends to be ranked as ‘Immense’, which means only Immense Spiritual Pressures can equalize its pull.
- Her most notable Sins are Lust, Greed, Murder, and Cruelty.
- Her most notable Virtues are Love, Gentleness, Humility, and Diligence.
- Oddly enough, she does not have a Vollständig nor a Letzt Stil, but she does have the longest Wortschatz. ‘I AM THE THORN AMONG THE ROSES’ contains ten Schrifts, with the ‘T’, ‘H’, ‘E’, ‘O’ Schrifts repeating three times each.
- Additional details are scant, but Bellatrice’s ‘T’ Schrift stands for the ‘Telekinetic’, which allows its bearers to move objects with their thoughts. The fact that it repeats thrice in Bellatrice’s Wortschatz means she is an exceptionally talented when it comes to psychokinesis.
- Like all Lichtdunkel Quincy, Bellatrice forgoes bows and arrows. Her Spirit Weapon is a Rocket Launcher, and it ties in nicely with the rest of her kit.
- When engaging foes, Bellatrice prefers to keep her distance, pelting her victims with heavy ordnance that behaves either like a ‘seed’ or a parasitic ‘egg’ – either one is capable of birthing energy-based monstrosities that obey her bidding, with Bellatrice’s plant-like minions being defensive reinforcements, and her animal-like minions being dedicated to offense.
[Template ‘Gajendra’]
- Appears as a large, bald, barrel-chested man with dark skin and East-Indian features.
- If encountered as an unredeemed Togabito in Hell, Gajendra is decked in a ragged kurta, and has a sullen, nihilistic attitude. Otherwise, or when redeemed into an Exgriseo Togabito, he still wears a kurta, but it is clean, ornate, and rimmed with woven gold. His personality as an Exgriseo Togabito is polite, wise, and encouraging.
- Gajendra will often wind up in Hell due to his life as a Thuggee, which is a member of the East Indian Thugs, which in turn is a group of armed robbers and serial killers. Gajendra was notorious for accompanying travellers, gaining their trust, only to deliver them into a trap set by the rest of his gang. In most cases, Ganjendra will not die of old age; in over 90% of the Spirit Kingdom timelines the Four Horsemen visit, he will have been killed trying to betray his gang out of their cut of loot.
- When his wrongdoings are literally erased from his past as part of the Exgriseo redemption procedure, Gajendra will play the role of guardian angel to as many people going on long journeys as he can. While it’s true that the actions of the Four Horsemen will have created a new timeline where he did not waylay people, once transformed into a Sinner-Saint, Gajendra will feel the urge to protect others.
- As the Right-Hand Squire of the Horseman of Pestilence and an Omnis Fullbringer, Gajendra excels at taking advantage of the environment to set up ambushes.
- His Spiritual Vacuum tends to be ranked as ‘Vast’, which means only Vast Spiritual Pressures can equalize its deteriorating effects on the Spiritual plane.
- His most notable Sins are Greed, Murder, Violence, and Betrayal.
- His most notable Virtues are Temperance, Honesty, Humility, and Patience.
- Gajendra’s skills as a Fullbringer are well-honed, and he can pull on the souls of everything around him with little difficulty, although it’s much easier for him to influence the souls of any solid surfaces he’s touching. He has many Omnis ‘Affinities’, but only three are known.
- His ‘Affinity of What’ is called ‘Jemadar’s Noose’, which is a long, ornate strip of cloth that used to be the turban he wore as a Thuggee criminal. Thugs would strangle their victims, and Gajendra’s former murder weapon holds a Fullbring that doubles as both prison and attack. Once activated, Jemadar’s Noose will transform into a multi-armed Rakshasa made of flowing cloth. The fiend will then attempt to bind an opponent, and each second that opponent remains bound results in a percentile draining of their Reiryoku. Spending just twenty seconds bound by Jemadar’s Noose will result in its victim losing all Spiritual Pressure.
- Gajendra’s ‘Affinity of Where’ is a surprisingly broad Fullbring. Most Fullbringers close affiliation have specific forms that hold special meaning, like trinkets from their childhood. Omnis Fullbringers themselves can only manifest Incomplete Fullbrings through targets that are ‘synonymous’ to the ‘true crystallization’ of their Complete Fullbring. For example, an ordinary Fullbringer might only be able to unleash a Completed Object-Type Fullbring with the first pair of shoes they ever owned, whereas the Omnis variant of that same Fullbringer would still able to unleash am Incomplete Fullbring with similar-looking, similar-sized shoes. Gajendra’s does not have this issue, and his Complete ‘Affinity of Where’ is not limited to a singular place. Instead, he can consecrate up to seven sites within a thirty-kilometer radius into his Location-Type Fullbring ‘A Journey Cut Short’. Its effects are something Gajendra does not readily divulge, but given his past life as a Thuggee, it would be best to steer clear of the positions he’s marked and transformed into ‘expressions’ of his soul.
CAVALRY OF RED
[Templates ‘Dante and Damien’]
- Siegfried’s Squires are unique in that their destinies are entangled with each other. If one of them is missing from the current Spirit Kingdom’s timeline, the other is sure to be missing as well.
- If one of them is not yet condemned to Hell as a Togabito, the other is likewise guaranteed to be traipsing about in one of the other Spirit Kingdom partitions. No matter which Spirit Kingdom they are found in, they will always be cousins, twins born at most 5 hours apart from each other.
- Dante will always be sporting black hair and scarlet eyes, and Damien his blond hair and violet eyes.
- Both will be good-looking, well-off young men running a gang of sorts, and the scope of that gang will vary from ‘street hooligans’, to ‘international mafia’, to even a pack of marauding Hollows. In any case, Dante and Damien will be involved in something illegal and/or nefarious.
- Dante and Damien will always be spotted in formal clothing under trench coats, with Dante choosing darker colors, and Damien choosing to wear lighter hues.
- Whether unredeemed or redeemed, both will have fun-loving, carefree personalities.
- If they are Sinners condemned to Hell, it will doubtless have been due to their love of organized crime, societal chaos, and wanton debauchery.
- In almost all of the Spirit Kingdoms visited by the Four Horsemen, the death of their human selves will have been a hail of bullets from government enforcers or a rival gang after a night of drunken mayhem.
- There are rare occasions where such violent deaths will result in both Dante and Damien refusing to depart to the afterlife, whereupon they will almost always turn into Hollows. In that scenario, they always make it to the level of Vasto Lorde at breakneck speed, tramping about in Hueco Mundo until they try to invade Soul Society out of sheer boredom. After weeks of intense battle, the resident Shinigami will defeat them at great cost, and only then will the two cousins wind up in Hell with additional Hollow-based abilities.
- If Dante is the Right-Hand Squire of the Horseman of War, Damien will be the Left-Hand Squire, and vice versa. As is normal for the Squires obtained from a Standard-Tier Spirit Kingdom, the Right-Hand Squire of will posses a Vast Spiritual Vacuum, and the Left-Hand Squire will be inferior, possessing an Immense Spiritual Vacuum.
- Both Dante and Damien will be ‘imprinted’ with Lichtdunkel Quincy Legacies, and both will share the Sins of Envy and Wrath, as well as the Virtues of Diligence and Charity.
- Dante will differ by having Pride, Dishonesty, and Rebellion as notable Sins, with Honor and Valor being his notable Virtues.
- Damien will differ by having Apathy and Racism as notable Sins, with Chastity, Tolerance, and Humility being his notable Virtues.
- Dante’s Wortschatz is ‘CERBERUS’, and Damien’s Wortschatz is ‘PARHELION’. Not much is known about their combination of Schrifts, but the ‘R’ of Dante stands for the ‘Reaction’, which grant him the ability to tweak the results of ‘cause and effect’. The ‘H’ of Damien stands for the ‘Hardiness’, and it has to do with the manipulation of ‘defenses’ and ‘durability’.
- Both cousins have access to secret Vollständigs, and both are able to perform a unique variant of the Lichtdunkel Quincy’s Reinste Schöpfung Technique, which causes their Soul Void to output particles of Reishi and Anti-Reishi. The variant of the two cousins doesn’t rely on their Soul Voids.
- Both are avid practitioners of ‘Gun Fu’, with Dante preferring a set of floating handguns for his Spirit Weapons, and Damien preferring an oversized Musket with a Seele Schneider Bayonet attachment.
- Dante and Damien cannot have experienced being Hollowfied prior to becoming Exgriseo if they are to utilize Quincy Bankai-Stealing Medallions, or else stolen Bankai will be unusable.
CAVALRY OF BLACK
[Template ‘Mortimer]
- Appears as an austere, robust man whose face is hidden aside a pair of glowing white eyes and a blood-red goatee.
- If encountered as an unredeemed Togabito in Hell, Mortimer is decked in dirty, brown, hooded robes, and has a psychotic, paranoid attitude. Otherwise, or when redeemed into an Exgriseo Togabito, he still wears hooded robes, but they will be white and spotless. Mortimer’s personality as an Exgriseo Togabito becomes more fatherly, nonchalant, and classy.
- Mortimer’s history is confidential, but it often has to do with the death of his wife and daughters.
- As the Left-Hand Squire of the Horseman of Famine and an Omnis Fullbringer, Mortimer doubles as the best Summoner of the Eight Squires while being a deadly melee combatant.
- His Spiritual Vacuum tends to be ranked as ‘Immense’, but he is talented at hiding its true amount.
- His most notable Sins are Pride, Occultism, Atheism, and Vanity.
- His most notable Virtues are Faith, Kindness, Diligence, and Gratitude.
- Mortimer’s skills as an Omnis Fullbringer are formidable, but only if applied to something that he owns. Like Gajendra, he has many ‘Affinities’, but only two of his are officially revealed.
- His ‘Affinity of What’ is called ‘Harvest Time Hazards’, which is a large scythe with dual blades, one on each end. Harvest Time Hazards might be an Object-Type Fullbring, but it seems to behave more like a person. The scythe itself is able to move and think autonomously, and both Mortimer and the scythe can freely control each other’s positions, even instantly switching locations on the fly. The glowing edges of Harvest Time Hazards also ‘remember’ any damage they inflicted during a three-hour window, and they are capable of inflicting the totality of that damage again and again with a single scratch. That is possibly the most devastating feature of Mortimer’s weapon, since there’s no limit to how much harm Harvest Time Hazards can store and redistribute during a fight.
- Mortimer’s ‘Affinity of When’ is called ‘Morning Has Shattered’, and it is a period that arrives with every sunrise. The time between the moment when the sun first peeks over the horizon and the moment when it fully rises is Mortimer’s Event-Type Fullbring. During this timeframe, Mortimer can empower his techniques and abilities by channeling his life force and health straight into them. While this Fullbring seems mediocre at first, used in conjunction with Harvest Time Hazards Mortimer can load up his scythe with monumental amounts of 'harm'. It's not uncommon to see Harvest Time Hazards having stored up so much 'remembered damage' that its mere touch evaporates even the sturdiest of foes. The Complete Fullbring of Morning Has Shattered’s can only be released on Earth, but its Incomplete Fullbring version can be simulated elsewhere via preparations.
- His third Fullbring is possibly an ‘Affinity of Where’ or an ‘Affinity to Who’, and it is alluded to be a minion that conjures other minions, and that it is related to Necromancy. Mortimer is not capable of a Lust-Pride Sin Combination, and yet he's never involved in a battle without a host of undead entities aiding him. However, this unknown Fullbring's name and nature are secrets for now.
[Template ‘Valeria]
- Appears as a smart-looking woman of average height with golden hair that dances across her shoulders in waves.
- If encountered as an unredeemed Togabito in Hell, Valeria is usually decked in nothing but her Sinner’s Chains, all tried around her body like the wrappings of an Egyptian mummy, and she will have a sarcastic, hateful attitude. Otherwise, or when redeemed into an Exgriseo Togabito, she opts for formal business attire, and her personality becomes more dignified, motherly, and caring.
- Valeria will often wind up in Hell not due to some overt crime, but her activities won’t be any less heinous. Valeria’s most common incarnation is that of a crass school principal in Victorian-era England. Her students will be so emotionally abused that most of them will end up committing suicide, and she will shrewdly pin the blame on those students’ families, causing untold psychological suffering. Valeria almost always dies in her sleep at the age of ninety, alone and friendless, having ruined countless lives throughout her career, and yet without suffering any tangible consequences. It is only in the afterlife where she realizes she did not get away with her misdeeds.
- When her wrongdoings are literally erased from her past as part of the Exgriseo redemption procedure, Valeria’s first act is to aid in the counselling of thousands of distraught youths from the shadows. While it’s true that the actions of the Four Horsemen will have created a new timeline where she was not responsible for traumatizing her students, once transformed into a Sinner-Saint, Valeria will feel the urge to raise an entire generation of courageous, helpful children who will go on to shape their society for the better.
- As the Right-Hand Squire of the Horseman of Famine and a Lichtdunkel Quincy, Valeria is a beacon of healing, supportive, and boosting techniques.
- Her Spiritual Vacuum tends to be ranked at Vast, and at its base level is actually the greatest among the Eight Squires, eclipsed only by the two Squires of the Horseman of Death when they are cooperating and have their Person-Type Fullbrings in sync.
- Her repertoire is confidential, but rumor has it that she has traded the ability to hurt her enemies for the ability to augment her friends. She is the only one of the Eight Squires to have a Master Rank in all the Seven Exgriseo Virtues, but also the only Lichtdunkel Quincy without a Spirit Weapon.
- Equipment-wise, Valeria has been lauded as the queen of the Exgrieo’s ‘Metal’ and ‘Aether’ Soul Dust Industries, above even the Horseman of Famine, Delmorte herself. Valeria is able to set all manner of ‘enchantments’ through an Exgriseo equivalent of the Quincy’s Gintō spellcasting.
- The name and function of her Vollständig is unknown, but it has been said to take the form of a twelve-winged angel, and that not one of her allies has ever sustained lasting harm under its glow.
CAVALRY OF PALE GREEN
- Unlike the other Squires, the two belonging to the Horseman of Death are either encountered alive or in a state of oblivion. If alive, they will be model citizens on the outside, albeit with suppressed vices on the inside. If dead, they will have been lost in the Flow of Souls between a Spirit Kingdom’s dimensions as a mutated Jigokuchō. Normally, when someone is sent to Soul Society using the Konsō ritual, a Jigokuchō (Hell Butterfly) is created as a by-product. But, as far Kaiden and Tobias’s Alternate Reality selves are concerned, the Konsō ritual meant to grant them a peaceful afterlife will always be botched. Not only will the resulting Jigokuchō contain Kaiden and Tobias’ souls, the Hell Butterflies themselves will without fail be lost into the unfathomable void between realms.
- These Jigokuchō are in no danger of becoming Hollows, but it also means that Kaiden and Tobias are not able to reincarnate in any of a Spirit Kingdom’s partitions. Eventually, Josh will grab a hold of their Jigokuchō, and the Horseman of Death will then be free to call forth his Squires.
- Both Kaiden and Tobias are peculiar Exgriseo Togabito in that the only consistent Sin and Virtue they have is Pride and Humility, much like the Horseman of Death. The rest of their Sins and Virtues depend on what they have suppressed in their hearts, and their collection varies from Spirit Kingdom to Spirit Kingdom. Their situation does make them ‘wild cards’ among the Squires of the Apocalypse. However, the remainder of their repertoires are not as randomized.
- Unlike Dante and Damien, Kaiden and Tobias’ existence are independent. There have been occasions where Josh has teamed up with one while the other had not been born yet.
[Template ‘Kaiden’]
- Appears as a lean, handsome young man with lightly tanned skin, amber eyes, and a short, messy mohawk. Whether in human or in Exgriseo form, he prefers sleeveless shirts that show off his physique, and he has a profound love for jeans and steel-toed boots.
- Kaiden tends to be rambunctious, confident, and he enjoys teasing people as much he enjoys being teased by them. Despite being an underling of the Horseman of Death, Kaiden loves nothing more than to bully his superior, and for some reason Josh can only respond with disgruntled protests.
- As the Left-Hand Squire of the Horseman of Death and an Omnis Fullbringer, Kaiden is the undisputed champion of the Eight Squires when it comes to melee brawls.
- Not one to care for the intricacies of manipulating the souls within everything like the average Fullbringer, he opts for a more explosive approach. Kaiden’s blows land with mind-boggling force, and he uses his blistering speed and agility to ‘break’ souls with his Fullbring instead of ‘controlling’ them.
- His ‘Affinity of What’ is called ‘Float Like A Moth, Sting Like A Missile’, which is the pair fingerless gloves protecting his fists, and it allows Kaiden’s techniques to feed off rage, smugness, confidence, and disappointment – the more those emotions are exhibited by Kaiden and/or the people around him, the more damage he dishes out, and the less damage he takes in turn.
- His ‘Affinity of Who’ is called ‘My Buddy The Jerkface’, and it is none other than Tobias himself. While this Fullbring Affinity can only be active if Tobias exists in the immediate vicinity, it grants Kaiden an ever-growing increase in the intensity of his Spiritual Vacuum. If Tobias doesn’t exist, Kaiden’s Spiritual Vacuum tends to linger around the ranking of Immense. But, if My Buddy The Jerkface is full effect, then both Kaiden and Tobias’s Spiritual Vacuums will equalize and reach the ranking of Vast at minimum.
- Kaiden’s ‘Affinity of Where’ is called ‘Gladiators Never Die’, which is an undisclosed stadium where he saw his first soccer game. Kaiden can invoke lesser variants of Gladiators Never Die Fullbring by entering other stadiums, or by having his allies raise arena-like constructs for his soul to resonate with. While Gladiators Never Die is active, Kaiden can ‘shape’ the aftershocks caused by his attacks, as well as any breaches in the fabric of space caused by his next Fullbring.
- His ‘Affinity of When’ is ‘Glass Cannon Overture’, and it is the period that transpires for one and a half seconds after whenever his attacks fail to connect. Multiple instances of Glass Cannon Overtures stack, which means dodging Kaiden is, in the big picture, more danger than taking a hit. While Glass Cannon Overture is active, Kaiden’s blows can fracture the very constituents of reality itself, opening web-like rifts that implode and ‘delete’ whatever is unfortunate to be caught within them when they close.
- The rest of his Omnis Affinities are confidential. All in all, a fistfight with Kaiden is the last thing any of the Exgriseo’s enemies want.
[Template ‘Tobias’]
- Appears as a well-built, attractive young man with a fair complexion, cyan eyes, and a mop of amber hair with pronounced silvery-golden tufts near the sides of his head. Whether in human or in Exgriseo form, Tobias is never spotted without his sleeveless grey blazer, dark grey trousers, white polo shirt, and stripped tie.
- Tobias tends to be sensible, aloof, and well-mannered, but Kaiden has knack for bringing out the party animal within him. He too enjoys giving the Horseman of Death a hard time, albeit in a more brotherly way, and he is sensitive enough when to know that Josh’s feelings have truly been hurt, unlike Kaiden.
- As the Right-Hand Squire of the Horseman of Death and an Omnis Fullbringer, Tobias’ dominion over Elemental Forces is unmatched among his peers.
- Even without the use of this special Omnis Fullbringer Affinities or his Sin and/or Virtues, Tobias can direct and mould the souls within matter and energy into anything that he says is an Element. He can transmute fire into water, water into lightning, or lightning into darkness, with nothing more than a half-hearted glance.
- His ‘Affinity of What’ is called ‘Kaleidoscopes Between Sun And Moon’, and it is a large, scepter-like paintbrush that Tobias only reserves for troublesome opponents. Instead of unleashing his Completed Fullbring all the time, he goes for a set of baton-like paintbrushes. Omnis Fullbringers may call upon ‘synonyms’ that represent their actual Omnis ‘Affinity’, and so Tobias can invoke Incomplete Fullbrings via his nameless paintbrushes. Kaleidoscopes Between Sun and Moon allow him to convert his Spiritual Vacuum into any Elemental Essence he desires. Individual paintbrushes of Kaleidoscopes Between Sun And Moon may be also connected with each other to form a staff-like weapon that ‘fuses’ the Elements they’re channeling into a new, stronger Element.
- Tobias’ ‘Affinity of Who’ is call ‘My Buddy The Halfwit’, and it is essentially a copy of Kaiden’s own Person-Type Fullbring. It is the resonance of ‘My Buddy The Jerkface’ and ‘My Buddy The Halfwit’ that instantly sets Kaiden and Tobias’ Spiritual Vacuums to the ranking of Vast, making them equals, and then continuing to grow their overall might from there on.
- Tobias’ ‘Affinity of Where’ is called ‘Quetzalcoatl’s Roost’, and it is a grove of trees within his family’s garden. Like his ‘Affinity of What’, Tobias can unleash the Incomplete Fullbring of Quetzalcoatl’s Roost using any group of trees that resemble the ones needed for the Completed Fullbring version. Those trees must be fir and/or cedar, and there must be at least ten of them arranged in a ring. While Tobias is in the circle of the Incomplete Quetzalcoatl’s Roost, he can absorb anything he even slightly considers an Element. Every tree present represents a 30% efficiency of absorption towards Elemental forces, so destroying them will weaken Tobias’ benefits accordingly. However, once activated Quetzalcoatl’s Roost will remain in play until the last tree is eliminated – a task that’s easier said than done.
- Tobias’ ‘Affinity of When’ is called ‘Color Me Unimpressed’, and it the period that occurs for five seconds whenever one of his allies is injured by anything that he deems to be an Elemental attack. If that ally makes physical contact Tobias within the five second window of Color Me Unimpressed, all Elemental damage they have received is undone, and they gain an immunity to that specific Element for the next few minutes.
- All in all, Tobias is a testament to the Omnis Fullbringer’s awe-inspiring Legacy. Once he takes to the battlefield and bombards those who would dare stand against the Four Horseman with a relentless tempest of hard-hitting Elemental techniques, it becomes clear why Josh is dead set on keeping him as one of the Eight Squires, forever set as a prime example of the Exgriseo’s supreme versatility and extreme firepower.
