This one is stumping the hell out of me, for one I didn't think that you could put a folding stock on a direct gas impingement AR, so I brained that it was an airsoft gun. Upon closer inspection of the gun I realized that the weapon doesn't seem to have a gas block, three things are really confusing me though. One it's an M4A1 according to the markings, I didn't think you could swap out parts to make it a gas piston operated firearm. Two you have a silencer which isn't technically legal in most areas. The third thing confusing the hell out of me are the excess markings in white which stand out on the weapon; that's something you usually find on an airsoft gun not an actual firearm. However all of the markings say 'Cal. 5.56' and I don't see any place in which a battery would be housed. My final verdict is airsoft but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, you can put a folding stock on a direct impingement rifle. You need to make adjustments to the recoil buffer spring system and bolt carrier group to do it, though. A low profile gas block could fit inside the forearm guard under the front sight provided the suppressor was threaded on and not integral.
Also, suppressors are legal in the US under the FFA provided you fill out the requisite paperwork, receive approval of local law enforcement and pay a $200 transfer tax in addition to the cost of the can. The same is true of fully automatic firearms anywhere in the United States.
That being said, very cool photo and very cool loadout.

Nice picture! But you know what? I've seen many pictures like this Loadout and I still don't know who started the trend...
Anyway, you should try to make similar Loadouts, but with some unconventional weapons!!
Keep it up!
