Description
2008, Oil on canvas(measurements have slipped my mind and will be added later, it's the turpentine fumes..) I also couldn't decide on a name yet, maybe it'll come with time - maybe it won't.

ow!Β a moment of being at one with the sea, sky and all the creatures.Β Feels like when, as a child, I would sneak out in the middle of the night, wade through the water and scramble over rocks to sit in a sea cave, watching the moonlight on the water.Β THANK YOU!

I just did lots and lots of thin layers of paint, lots of oil and turpentine. Oh, and thank you.

This painting seems to reflect my mood perfectly right now. I couldn't sleep because all my problems just kept following me everywhere, even in my bed where I was just suppose to dream and relax. These problems are just putting me in an annoying dark spiritΒ... I hope this picture will help me transcend these unwelcomed feelings (Sorry if my english is bad...)

this is...mesmerising, I think, is the best way to put it. somehow, I do not think it needs a name...
the feeling of it reminds me of a short game I played recently; [link]

I think this piece not having a name makes it all the more powerful. Absolutely love it and the work as a whole is enough of a name.

I love this work~ the brushstrokes, the shadowy figure against the slightly lighter background. The beams of light against the birds. It really is a very good piece of work~

Hahah, yes they do. The amount of turpentine I poured on this one.. Those were some hazy days! Thanks.

turpentine is so good for those transparencies... I wish someday I'll get the hang of it
Also, turpentine is what made me shy away from oils for a long while, until I got this kind of divine inspiration that told me: "try working outside"
it's better for the hazyness, but it only works when it's not raining hahaha

Oh my gosh, this is amazing!
(Though it kind of scares me,
not only because the mood of this master piece is amazing,
but the fact that I see nightmares like these)

Beautiful... and creepy. Congratulations!
If I may, the first thing I thought when I saw it, it was "shaman". As far as I know, in many cultures, when the shamans start their travel in the spirits' world, they take the form of a bird (or a bird litteraly burst out of them gnawing its way through their physical body). Hence, they're often painted with a bird head instead of a human one.

That's a cool interpretation, thanks for sharing! I think I've read somewhere that in middle-eastern cultures ravens are seen as birds that guide your soul to the afterlife once you die. I think it's a beautiful thought.
