ah of course slate "look" shingles just upside down,
ever see those in a house fire? they pop like popcorn, when i was a vol. fireman
i encountered those a few times they were like ninja throwing stars...

My house burned down five years ago, we watched it.  We didn't see any shingles popping.  By the time the fire hit the roof it was so hot the roof was pretty much gone in an instant.

oh how terrible, I didn't mean to bring back a bad memory, I hope no one was hurt.
I know how emotionally damaging it is to lose your home like that. And i certainly didn't mean anything
glib in my remark. It was mostly on practice burns when we could control the situation that I could take
time to observe them and then it was only the fake slate ones like in the photo.

Think nothing of it.  While we watched the house burn I leaned against my truck and thought now I don't have to put on a new roof....
