Feat. Cole the handler

_____________

Story:

Cole was not the most patient of handlers. He was capable, but when it came to training tokotas to accept and work with riding tack, he had serious issues. He despised repetitiveness, and despite his deep connection to his animals he had no idea how to teach them this very basic thing. Gregory, on the other hand, was particularly talented in teaching the tokotas the riding tack in record time, which Cole greatly admired. Most of the tokotas in the ranch could be comfortably ridden, with the exception of Auros, who could not very well obey commands or remember what each tug and flisk of the reins meant. That in itself was nto a big issue, as Auros was mostly a hunting and exploring animal, so riding him was rarely nesecary. But it so happened that one day that Cole decided to take three of his favourite tokotas, Auros, Salter and Asriel out on a trip, Auros' issues with riding almost ended in big problems. They had all left early in the morning to go collect medicinal berries, as Gregory was sick and needed them to get better. Nodoby in the nearby villages had them at that time of the year, but Cole knew where to find some. Salter was extremely worried for Gregory and tried harder than anyone else to find the berries. Asriel tried hard too, but he wasn't sure how the berries smelled and had never seen any up close before, so he wasn't much help. It took half the day for the group to locate and harvest enough berries to take back home, when Auros started behaving strangely. It did not take long for Cole to realise what had happened. Auros had munched on some unkown fruit, and was very dizzy and disoriented. Now, if it were any other tokota, a halter and reins would have helped to quickly bring him home where they had the antidotes for many poisonous plants. THe tokota could not figure out which way to go by himself, but with the halter and reins Cole could guide it. However, with Auros's problems with riding this porved ot be a big challenge, and it took every last bit of resolve and love Cole had to bring the tokota to follow his guidance. Salter and Asriel tried to help by encouraging and supporting Auros, but he was already starting to halucinate from whatever he had eaten so Cole made the other two tokotas stay a safe distance away from Auros to prevent any accidents. They all eventually managed to come home in one piece and Auros spent a week in bed, eating only boiled chicken and keeping company to the equally sick but very amused Gregory.
