Story time. (453 words)
Cole had decided to go to the marshlands. It was an area full of things to find, as many things got lost there, and all sorts of strange plants grew. So he took Salter, who was always his go to tokota when he needed companionship more than anythign else, Asriel who hadn't been on an excursion lately and who was extremely excited about the trip, and Auros, because despite his air-headedness, he worked great with all tokotas and was sure to entertain the others while Cole searched for stuff. They set out carrying only empty bags and their lunch, went down the slope where the ranch was and all across the stretchign fields below, which proved to be the most boring part of the trip, as there was nothing to find and the flat ground offered little entertainment. Asriel and Auros tried racing and rolling in the grass, but the sun was high in the sky and it was too hot for anything more strenuous than slow trotting. Once they reached the marshes, they all set out to exploring the misty place, trodding through mud and trying to find usefull things. Cole used a long stick he had found to help him through the murky waters. Asriel avoided getting wet and muddy as much as he could, Auros tried hunting frogs with very little success and Salter stayed close to Cole, making sure he was safe. Cole ended up gathering enough things to fill all their bags and was very happy about it, until he realised they would have to caryr them all the way back home on three very muddy and wet tokotas. They all grumpily started to head back home when a farmer who lived next to the ranch happened on their way. He was riding on his empty cart as he had just gone to the nearby town to sell his hay, and offered to carry their bags back home for them. Cole thanked him and promised to pay him back in home-made medicine and cake. Free of stuff to carry, Cole took his three companions and brought them to a wide river to wash off as much as they could of the dirt from their coats. After they got dried up and ate their lunch at 6pm, they headed back home, passing by the same flat, boring plains. But this time the sun was close to setting and the night's breeze blew fresh and cool, so Asriel and Auros had their races and grass-rolls. Salter, as the older and argueably more collected one, stayed by Cole, attentively listening to him blabbering on and on about all the things they could do with their newfound treasures from the day's exploration.
