Description

The smell of it. It hit Taro the first time that he came across it in this existance like a physical blow. He didn't feel it in his nose, as part of him expected, but through the bottoms of his feet. A faint warmth, a holding motion, vapor. It wasn't just the smell of the plant that he could sense because it was right there in front of him, but the smell of indoors and fire and old wool. He had to take a step back, as if to avoid the onslaught of blurry images. He knew none of what he saw, yet they were all familiar. A feeling bloomed in his chest not unlike what one may feel after hours of sitting under the midday sun. Something that wasn't there, right in his core, was being tugged on, and Taro felt upset. He turned and he ran, but the overpowering smell of mountain tea hunted him so, and the grass he passed over wilted and bent as his mood worsened. As he reached a small stream and let the water cool off his burning paws (it didn't work, he barely even felt it pass through him, but he at least had tried), a final image flashed before his eyes, of the plant's pale stems and flowers dried and lifeless, bound together upside down. He thought then, perhaps that was some sort of bad omen, because of the peculiarity of the vision, but the hauntingly reassuring warmth didn't go away for many days.

I'm gonna try and do as much of this new event as I can, but no promises.

For the mini-activity about endangered species I knew I wanted a sort of mountain tea, because οf how it is connected to Tarό's past life.
So I chose the Sideritis reverchonii species, which is endagered (it's a kind of ironwort)

I did a horrible job painting the plant, but it's that bushy thing Tarό is looking at in the image above.
