Description
Well, folks, this is the last 2 MM3 Artist Proof cards from me. The Black Cat has already been paid for. A guy saw the first Black Cat I put on Ebay, but didn't win the auction. So, he just commissioned one right then. The She-Hulk is the ONLY one I have left and has not been purchased...YET! This is the first time it's been seen. I am going to place it on Ebay later today unless I get a good offer on it first. I didn't realize how popular these things were until I put them on Ebay. WOW!! A guy could make a living off just selling artist proof cards! I almost wish I had 100 of these bad boys instead of just 10.-Ray
Update!! She-Hulk is now up for bid on Ebay: [link]

It's a set of cards ( usually around 10) that are given to the artist who've worked on any of the Marvel Masterpiece Sketch Card sets. The artists can either use those cards to sell off as commissions or to keep themselves. They are ultra rare.

OH!! HAHAHA...These are direct from Upper Deck and are only given to those who have worked on any of the Marvel Masterpiece Sketch Card sets. So, unfortunately, you can't buy these blank.
Sorry, my friend. I thought you were talking about these cards I've been seeing for the past couple of months that can be purchased from either some art store or online somewhere. They have no association with Marvel, Upper Deck, or any entertainment company of note.

Guy could make a living off those proofs and returns. Wish they had more sets from Upperdeck I enjoyed working with them.

So help me out here... these get mass produced by marvel, but the proofs are yours to sell?
I never really understood how these worked.

RAHeight2002-2012 In reply to LeoCamacho [2008-11-25 20:58:37 +0000 UTC]
Well, none of the sketch cards are mass produced, really. A group of artists are picked and signed on to do a certain number of hand-drawn sketches on blank cards to later be placed in a package of regular trading cards as a special, VERY exclusive card that, from what I here, only comes 1 in an entire box of Marvel Masterpiece Trading Cards. If that wasn't exclusive enough, Upper Deck/Marvel gives each contributing sketch card artist a certain number of SUPER exclusive Artist Proof sketch cards that you can only get from and approved Marvel Masterpiece sketch card artist. The artist can do whatever he or she wishes with those cards i.e sell, auction, or keep for themselves as long as Marvel/Upper Deck approves the artwork first.
Hope that helps.

Well that explains why you are awesome.
Thanks for the info! Clears up a lot. Now that I know... damn. What an awesome idea from Marvel and what an honor for the artists. Good work man, these are awesome.

They both look great, though I'm not particularly fond of She-Hulk. I can see why they'd sell well.

Thanks!
As much as I like She-Hulk as a character, I have to admit that this was my first time drawing her. It was kinda fun and I am sure it won't be the last one I draw of her.
