Description As I laid in bed sick this week, I decided to pick up an old sketchbook of mine, pick a couple of drawings and re-sketch them the way I draw now. Here is one of those.

Curiously enough, the 2007 version looks younger. Great exercise to see how the journey looks so far. I should try it, myself. Hope you're feeling better Ray, and that you still managed to enjoy the holidays.

I always love side by side comparisons. I did it with that Emma Frost marker drawing, and that was only 4 months apart. Seeing improvement really does boost confidence.

The new one is more technically proficient, the old one has more... personality, I think.

I agree. More of my actual "style" can be seen in the 2007 version. It's still there in the way I draw now just more....refined, I guess.

Hey Tim! Nah. I'm a righty. I use to REALLY want to be cool lefty, though. They always seemed smarter and in some kind of exclusive club. I even tried to teach myself to draw left-handed, but I eventually stopped practicing

Hehe, the lefty club. Was just curious based on the direction of the face. Just cause as a righty myself I find it a bit more difficult to draw a face looking to (our) right like that.

Dude!! I did, too! It took me a LOT of practice to be able to draw a 3/4 face shot from both sides decently.

Thanks, Shaun! I'm pretty much past the worst of it. Just a pesky cough that comes in a 2-3 minute string of attack. Doesn't hurt anymore, though You will be surprised what showing a side-by-side of your old a new stuff will do to your confidence and technique!
