I'm guessing you chose Shadow as Strickland maybe because of the scene in the alternative 1885(1885A) where he uses a gun "SLACKERS!!!".
Hmm...I might be thinking to deep on this,but if Shadow was in place of Strickland that little kid back in ol' 1885 would be his father.
Of course, it's just a change in "actors" so that kid has to be his grandfather...
