Hi there! I am here with ProjectComment !

First off I want to say I love this pose. The dragon is posed very nicely. It is dynamic but still easy to see the markings that might be colored on it, making it a good base for reference sheets. Anatomy wise, the front legs look good, but I would push the muscles of the back legs more. Dragons are large creatures and need a lot to support them, if that makes sense. I would also maybe position the tail a bit differently. Right now it is a bit stiff; it should flow more with the body. Don't be afraid to make your canvas bigger in order to fit it differently! The good thing about digital art is you can change the canvas sizes. Extending the tail behind the dragon might make it look even better. The wings might be a little small too. However, take this all with a grain of salt--dragons are fictional creatures so you can draw them how you like!

Now to the linework itself. I would love to see variation in the line sizes! It makes for a more interesting piece (especially if the piece itself is only lines). That being said, the lines themselves are very smooth and I applaud you for that! It is hard to do. I would push for more detail in the lines, and vary line thickness. Maybe even make some at a lighter opacity. The shading is good and simple, but maybe next time shade the scale detail as well. There are a few places where the shading would look awesome if it bended with the scales instead of being straight like it is. Work with your lines when you shade! Maybe even add a second layer for more depth!

Overall this is really nicely done!

Thanks for the great comment!

Lines are a bit of a problem for me, i don't have a digital tablet so i normally draw by hand and use the line tool after to make the line art. I am thinking of ways to make the sizes more interesting in future versions tho, just haven't had a great idea yet. I'm also thinking on making a new sitting base for Sandwings

Sorry for the delay on replying, for some reason i didn't see this comment on my notifications! Just saw him now that i opened this guy to update his pasteΒ Β

oh, no worries!

i used to use the line/pen tool as well. one thing I did was alter the size as i was going along. it was a bit more tedious, since you can't use paths on the entire thing, but it made the lines more dynamic if that makes sense

I did try that too but Krita won't really allow it, so i've been trying ways to circumvent it for now
