So after being away from dA for a while I come back to find that this photo received a daily deviation in my absence.
All I can say is thanks to everyone who favorite'd / featured it
. It's probably the best welcome back present ever. It's always been one of my favorite photos that I've taken, so I'm glad that the community here likes it as well.

This shot really is heartbreaking... 
Great job in capturing the moment. Black and white was a nice touch, and the fact that she is surrounded by so many people seems to magnify her lonely and worried face. How young she is also adds to it...
Overall it's a wonderful shot. Amazing job.

I think it's a wonderful shot capturing the girl's true feelings of her situation. I can't honestly say what the girl was going through but I do think that we all have those things about us that weigh so heavy on us that for one moment we show it just to get some relief.

What a capture! so lonely in the midst of a crowd.
I have to ask... is this a girl you know, or just a random, amazing shot?

This is a beautifully captured shot. She almost looks as if she lost sight of whomever she was with and is trying to find them in the crowd.
The mom in me hopes that there is no sad story for this young girl and that the moment was fleeting and quickly replaced with the huge grin that belongs on that beautiful face.
Wonderful shot though especially in a crowd that was probably in a constant state of change.
