This is a mare who has lost her loved one. As you can see she has a scar on her chest where her heart is. The look she is portraying well....can simply 'break your heart'.

This is amazing.
2 things though. The mane/tail/forelock seem a bit to stick like here. I love your flowy manes and I just don't see that here.
And The hooves seem like they should be deeper in the water. The water seems to be moving quick so I think there should be splashes up on the horse.
Other than that this is amazing. The overall effect fits the meaning behind the manip perfectly!
