Interesting idea on Beowulf. Did you ever read the tale of Beowulf? Well anyway, You are right there needs to be some toneing down of the muscles. Have you tried drawing him in a skinny version? Just an idea that is all.

Great draft! I think you went a little overboard with the mountians of muscle. Some are look a little bit of a crack off.
But overall a great sketch!
