i find it intruiging how nothing in this photo suggests french to me - especially not the FRAGILE message on the box. I love the pose and the lighting though - so real!

hi chris,
i, now shoot only medium format. had to make a choice and for the moment the small format just didn't fit my needs.
maybe later but i think that i have to try the large format before. a mate just got himself a linhof and we'll get a session started soon

we all have to shoot that which suits and meets and exceeds our needs.
i just got back some film from the contax 645 ... ah ... amazing.
i used to shoot large format and doubt i ever will again ... it brings back too many horrible memories of long-ass ad shoots in the desert.
you have to let me know when you've got some stuff from the linhof posted! may not want to shoot it but i sure as hell appreciate the results!

Amazing portrait. There are so many things to love about this photo. . . the gradient of light moving down the wall, the high contrast B&W, the interaction between mother and child, and the content gaze from the main subject. This simple, yet elegant, portrait is timeless. It will have the same impact in another 50 years. VERY nicely done and well earned DD.

Her fragile face, the baby's hands around her neck, the word fragile on the box, the picture in the back.. Its so emotional.. So strong.. very expressive..
Even the necklace add's to the pictures..
Every detail is so significant and add to the meaning of the picture..

even the cut on the hands adds here because the babys hands replace them..
