Toby Fox's newest hit is really impressive, the spritework and character designs in deltarune have been vastly improved since the original Undertale came out! I had to draw this little blobby skeleton dude(???).. thing. in a sprite-inspired style. I love him so much,,,I'm makin Susie in this style next!

Um, Toby didn't design the card-based Deltarune characters. They are based on a deck of cards a person he looks up to made (used with permission, but not designed BY Toby)

I liked Undertale, the original game was cool, after a while I lost interest but it was still entertaining.
however the sequel makes little to no sense and could have been better explained in development, even if it’s just the first chapter that is released, it would still be a lot better to give somewhat of an explanation to what happened - while some developers choose to be cryptic and it does work out, this one wasn’t really the case for me. The storyline, while I can’t necessarily call it cliche, did feel a bit overused with “start out as enemies, have a wacky adventure together and once they’ve learned the lesson, boom they’re friends.” it just felt a bit poorly developed to me. If the second chapter is any better after release, I’ll give it a chance.

It was actually pretty clear in Undertale that theirs different timelines/universes. Especially if you go through all the routes San says this clearly. The fact that you are not Frisk but Kris explains this even further.
I think the little to no sense falls on people not clearly understanding Undertale in the first place.
I also don't think it's weird that Lancer befriends you quickly because he was never really a bad guy to begin with. Which is the whole premise of Undertale. In Undertale mostly everyone befriends you after one battle. Even Asgore did.
So it's a bit confusing to say that you don't like how fast it happened but it's okay when the entireity of Undertale did this. . . o.o;;

I don't get why people think that just because a person has an opinion it's no longer up for discussion it can't be flawed, or just simply false. If you don't want people to reply to you then simply don't say anything in the first place. That's the only way you can keep that from happening. But you can't tell people not to reply to you. If you want people to accept your opinion you should probably try to learn to take your own advice. You seem to have a problem about my opinion about your opinion.
You took my reply as convincing but can you even actually point out where I tried to convinced you? I wasn't trying to convincing you I was just pointing out the inconsistency. Honestly though if someone is the type to hate an entire fandom because of an encounter then that's on them. It's sad that someone's opinion can be easily swayed just cause of a handful of people. Spoiler Warning for anyone who is reading the comments for a picture of a video game character of a game they haven't played for some reason....
While I do agree that the game doesn't completely make sense, I do think it is still a pretty good successor to Undertale, but there are things I do agree with. Their is definitely a looser story going on here, however the fact that just chapter 1 is around an hour to two makes me feel like this game is going to be just over all longer, so I do think things are going to be cleared up. The whole weird Chess/Card Game theme the (Darkness World?) has MAKES ME KINDA WORRIED, because when the characters return to the "Real World" the storage closet has.... a checkers board and a stack of playing cards, and both are in mess and laid out on the ground. I really hope Toby won't go there.
Really my only complaint is how it's impossible to kill enemies, as they simply run away. It made Susies whole thing where she always Attacks kinda useless since the first enemy she kills doesn't count towards getting to "good ending". Since I thought it could have been used for a really interesting concept, for example with the first Boss, going agaist a Time Limit before Susy kills it would have been fun. And when Susie is fighting Lancer, I honestly thought you had to knock Susie out to stop her from killing Lancer, and that would have been such a cool concept.
I do disagree with you about lancer, Lancer is the best character in the game, anyone who disagrees doesn't have a soul.

yeah,, and the pacing in the game seemed kinda off. like, you aren't gonna befriend your enemy in a single day,, it takes time and processing. they shouldve instead done it over the span of the different chapters instead,,
and yeah, there should have been a possible genocide route this time, i feel like he should blew off that concept to make it easier for people to choose pacifist and do less work on the genocide.
lancer just feels like a bootleg papyrus to me though,, sorry if that makes me soulless lol
