Everyone in a panic realized the only out for this situation was to get Ruby to use her silver eyes!So in desperation, Blake and Weiss dressed up as Pyrrha and Cinder and tried to imitate Pyrrha's death to make Ruby use them!

Oh, I see. You said "childhood trauma" so I thought it was something when Ruby was little.
But she was 15-16 at the Fall of Beacon, so I can barely call it "childhood".
As for Ozpin, I wouldn't be so prejudiced about him. He's just a man, and the whole fate of mankind is lies his hands. It's a heavy burden, I must say. I don't think there could be a person who know exactly what to do in his situation. He can't really make a difference. He's lost. Of course he made lots of mistakes and it's making him feel even worse. Ozpin is not a god, just a man with some magic power and a lifetime curse in addition.
He also was betrayed several times ("do you think Leo was the first?") so he can't really trust anyone now.
I believe he has a plan, but he can tell no one about it because of fear. I think he hopes silver eyed people can defeat Salem, and MAYBE it also has something to do with Summer's death.

Yet he still acts l I'll e hes a god by not revealing the history of there kind. Nor letting them have a chice in the matter of Salem. Only the narrative he made that Salem is evil. And his plans fail because Salem consumes his mind. Im not saying he should not keep a eye on her. He should always have a look over his sholders. But Salem is not a high priority. Still threat but not a high priority. Its because of his secrets that people turn om him and why the Becon relic is exposed (kind of). He striped humanity of the two ideals ot was created upon. Knowledge and choice. Qrow is now in a emotional rollercoaster because hes seen so much death while with Ozbin and maybe hinted that he witnessed Summer roses death. And because of Ozbin a d his lies he probably belives Summer a d all there friends are dying for a cause that Ozbin made up to keep there attention on Salem. Salem seems content to stay away from humanity in her castle and seems fine from no one knowing about her.
Ozbins plans fail because they focus to much on Salem. When in reality his misssion was to unite humanity and bring the gods back for judgment. HE ser himself up for failure by going to hwr when the god of light warned him about Salems "change". But he didn't and when Salem went all "ali akhbar" with uniting Humanity he didn't agree had a fight and now there children are dead. Every choice he makes ia ether of paranoia or selfishness.
Take the Maidens for example. They could have reminded him if his children so he bestowed upon them powers only to realize how good weapons they make later down the line. The silver eyed warriors hes probably been using to to kill of salem yet they to just die not even getting close to her. Hes just grabbing pieces from a chess game and throwing everything at Salem when Salem is jot the "real" problem. Hes been using people and not trusting them which leads to there downfall. Why do you think Leo and Raven betrayed him. They couldn't trust him due to his lies when they found out the truth and only saw the inevitable if they stayed with him so Leo switched sides and Raven ran away. While that happened km jot saying what they did was right but they had basically a good reason not to sode with Ozbin. Why stay with a liar when there enemy's tell the truth or you find thw truth out? Its all about Knowledge and choice which he has striped humanity of.

Sorry, but Salem is not ok sitting there and doing nothing? If she was, we would have never heard of her. Why she built a team of skilled and ambitious people around her? Why trying to seed despair in people's hearts? (crushing the CCTS, basically planning the fall of Beacon, Haven etc) Her goal is making troubles for Ozpin to complete his mission. She doesn't want Gods to return in the world, she hates them, and she'll never be silently comfortable with this "happy ending". That's why Ozpin must defeat her first and then try fixing the world. The problem is that it's gone too far already, and became an endless loop of death and despair.
Are you sure it would be better if he started telling everybody the truth behind his actions? Wouldn't it make things more complicated? The first half wouldn't believe him, the others would despair upfront. And the most ironic part is, if he finally, truly comes to the point where he tells the truth, there's always a claim "moron, so you lied to me all the time, bye". It takes not so little time to come to the point where you simply can't turn back without making any more problems.
I'm not saying he's making the right choices. But they all come from fear, burden and feeling of helplessness. After all, one man can't change the whole world. Idk what the Gods were thinking when they made this all up, seems like it's just a fun game for them. These are the real morons, you know.
I'm seeing where Oz was a real dumbass. He never asked Jinn how he can STOP Salem, or make her powerless, or where her weak points were. He had lots of opportunities for that.

Thats what I'm saying. Because of gis dumbass trying to find ways to kull Salem he hasn't veen doing his real goal. And yeah i know he should have said the truth long ago. Hes only thinking about the ahort term of things rather then the long term. Why do you think people turn on him in the forst place. And Salem she just want to die. If she keeps sowing discord and whem she bro gs the telics together for the gods to come back they will see humanity not united like they told Ozbin to do. But wipe humanity from existence. She wants to die. But she can't. The only way for her to die now is if Humanity is wiped from existence. She knows of Ozbins burden bu the god of light so shes using that while staying in the shadows to get what she wants. To die.
And Ozbin keeps trying to fond ways to kill salem when Jinn specifically says ypu cant kill her but there is a way to stop her he only ops for trying to kill her. Which is stupid. Had he done shit feom the beginning like the gods asked of him he wouldn't be in the mess he is now. And aftwr years of lying to his allys and when they find out the truth. Its no wonder they turn on him. All that time hiding things humanity should have known from the get go and he hides thinking for the short turn.
Sure People will not like the truth. Who the fuck doesn't. You will get those few who dont believe ot think hes insane. But had he told Humanity of there history and about the gods and all that sire there will be oit rage but it would settle down quickly and whatever Salem vomes up with wouldn't matter.
BUT because of his dumb ass letting Salem consume his mind and making a narrative that Salems the real reason why he was cursed. He loses people now because of the lies he's made.
And now the only people who he thought he could control still now know the truth. And the fact that he HIMSELF admitted that he has no plan. No wonder his alliea bwtray him. All hsi pain and shit is self inflicted much like Salems. Thats why Ozbin will always fail. All the shot he does womt worl because he lost soght of his goal that the gods told him to do.
Because of His dumbass trying to fins ways to kill her rather then i dont k ow supress her from the very beginning and uniting humanity like he was supposed to. Then maybe he wouldn't have had so many self inflicted problems.
