Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-09 01:16:36 +0000 UTC]

So what happens when you decide you don't want them anymore? Do they close up eventually, or will you have nice big holes for ever?

Personally I'm in two minds about flesh tunnels. On the one hand yeah they do look sexy on someone who can carry them off (e.g. not a bloke), but on the other hand anything like that makes me go 'eeeeuuuuwwww!!!' at the thought of it being done.
The only body mod I've considered is a tat of the same design as my DA icon, but for some reason I'm quite proud I've not got any tats or piercings - it's almost unique these days

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-09 14:21:08 +0000 UTC]

well i'm not going to decide that i don't want them for a verrrry long time, i love them, i think they give a slight edge to my otherwise "cutesy" appearance haha. and they do close up yep. maybe not all the way. it depends how long you've had them, how stretchy your skin is and stuff.. ahha.

i think flesh tunnels look good on most people. i LOVE them on guys, i think they're so hot.
but you're right, it is quite unusual to find someone with no piercings or tattoos these days. i still like them though. i like to think of the body as a blank canvas and you can experiment with it and stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-09 14:28:04 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm, cutesy with a dangerous edge... yeah, that works

I guess I'm a minimalist - I think being a blank canvas is something special these days. Plus i'm not really enough of a masochist to have someone intentionally harm me. I have a small but nice collection of genuine scars to impress people with, without having to go that far.
Having said that, my ancestry is Irish and Viking so it's in my blood to get all tattooed up. I guess it could happen.

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-09 14:32:48 +0000 UTC]

Haha I like it..

Do it. Get your whole body tattooed. Go on, I dare you.

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-09 14:39:12 +0000 UTC]

I had a friend at uni who used to like tats. He said you should choose a design you really like, then wait a year to see if you still like it. How long would I have to wait for a whole bosy tat?!?

Plus what to choose? I like Irish celtic designs, but a whole body of them might make me look like one of those rugs people bring back as gifts from Dublin...
Maori tats looks cool though...

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-16 19:09:16 +0000 UTC]

Outsides of your hips or the soft bits at the front? Best tattoo I've ever seen on a girl was two matching stars on her lower belly, just in from her hip bones. Don't know why I thought it was so good, I guess it just had an immediate effect on me

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-18 18:38:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah just inside my hipbones is where I want them really. Whee.
There were thunderstorms last night, I was staying at my friend Nathan's house and he was getting really scared haha. I was loving it

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-18 21:03:26 +0000 UTC]

Cool, should look good. Get them done in Henna first and see if you like them. If you get the artist to mix the paste thicker it'll go dark, so should simulate a tattoo quite well.

We had a mad-ass lightning storm yesterday afternoon. I was in Leeds centre doing some shopping, and it was as if someone had suddenly started emptying buckets of water over everything, the rain was that heavy. Even the people with umbrellas were taking shelter, and once the lightning started I could see why - there was no way I was holding onto a bit of metal in all that

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-22 13:42:07 +0000 UTC]

Drew them on with biro this morning, looked goooood! Now all I need is money.. and since I got drunk and quit my job the other day.. I don't have any.. AGH!

Whooaa that storm sounds amazing we had a pretty good one Thursday night/Friday morning, but it was after a night's drinking and I was drifting in and out of sleep while it was going on, and I couldn't be bothered to get up and watch it haha.

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-22 14:11:47 +0000 UTC]

That's a thought - I have absolutely no idea how much a tattoo costs. No whatsoever.
Tell you what you could do - a friend of mine from work does temporary tattoos (apparently the sand/pigment mix doesn't get implanted as deeply, so fades after about fives years - she does it for women who want their lips outlining and stuff) and she said when you're learning you need plenty of practice. Her teacher used to tattoo the soles of his own feet to get used to tattooing sensitive areas. I bet if you found someone who was studying you'd get a reduced rate in return for practicing on you.

What job did you quit? I didn't know you had one! I've got an interview for a law firm coming up. Boring work, but much more money than I'm on now, so fingers crossed.

We had an even better lightning storm the other night - lightning about every twenty seconds, lighting the room up even through curtains. My neighbours' cat was out in it, cowering under a kid's trampoline, so I rescued him from the downpour and gave him some food. He was so grateful he started licking my forehead. I don't think he's quite right...

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-23 15:47:26 +0000 UTC]

They do it per hour, it just depends where you go really I think.
I would look around for people who are studying it, but I'd be a bit scared of that for my first tattoo! I want to be safe in the hands of a professional!

I quit my waitressing job. Good luck on that law firm job!

I want lightning It's sunny here aha.

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-23 16:30:45 +0000 UTC]

I never knew that - I thought they'd charge by the size of the design. You live and learn Does it still look good now you've had it for a while, or has it washed off?
I get what you mean about not wanting a student - my gf had to have some dental work done recently and she got it done for free by having a student dentist do it. The student was apparently the best dentist she'd ever been to, but I still don't think I'd have let someone who hadn't qualified yet loose in my mouth.

Thanks. I've yet to hear back when the interview is though - getting a bit worried now...
Are you looking for something new, or are you just going to laze about until your new course starts?

If you want lightning you should come up here - it's been thundering around the hills for about an hour now, although bizarrely it's only just started raining now.

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-24 11:16:47 +0000 UTC]

It washed off biro isn't very permanent haha.

I'm not going to get another job for a bit. The pub down the road say I can start whenever I like. But I'm going to wait until I start college and see how much free time I have. Til then I'll be borrowing money off the parents and stuff haha.

Bit far to travel just for lightning haha

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-25 00:36:37 +0000 UTC]

Use permanent marker next time (though 'Brainiac' on SkyOne reckons that only stays on for a week anyway)

Ah, bar work, I remember that. I worked in an Irish pub in Leicester for a while. Crap job working behind a bar, especially for a woman - you either get people who think you should automatically have a drink waiting for them as soon as they get to the bar and if you don't then you're not serving properly, or as a woman you'll get the pervy types that stay at the bar all night and try to chat you up, despite the hundreds of times you've told them no. And your manager won't let you simply tell them to piss off cause that'd be bad for business. I'm guessing this is why they're keen for you to start whenever you like though - pub managers are always keen to bring in the dirty old man crowd - they're heavy drinkers

Yes it is a bit far. How about we just arrange for the storms to head down to your neck of the woods, and we'll have some sun for a change?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-26 13:22:53 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure permanent marker doesn't even stay on that long! Not on skin anyway.

Haha yeah, my brother works there already, and he said that the boss wants me to work there because there are too many guys working there? It's mostly old men who go in there as well.. oh lucky me!

I went to an outdoor gig at the Eden project last night and it kept raining. But I don't even care because IT WAS SOOO GOOD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-27 00:09:03 +0000 UTC]

It was proved by Brainiac, who are we to argue?

Thought your brother was at uni in Southampton?
Told you it was a ploy to get you there as eye candy - and it won't just be for the patrons' benefit either...

Thought the Eden project was indoor? Sorry it rained, but glad you enjoyed it. Anyone I would have heard of? It's the Leeds festival here this weekend but it sold out in about 20 minutes so there's no way I'm going to see the bands except on tv. Ah well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-27 11:32:36 +0000 UTC]

They lied, ok. I've had permanent marker on me many a time and it wears off easy peasy. Maybe I have funny skin.

He is at uni at Southampton, but he's home at the moment as it's summer and stuff.

Most of the Eden project is indoors, but they have this stage/arena/thing which is outdoors where they're having quite a few gigs at the moment, called the Eden Sessions.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-28 11:32:42 +0000 UTC]

Maybe you've had 'not-quite-permanent-marker' on you? Or maybe you're right, your skin repells ink (in which case a tattoo might be difficult...). Just a thought - where you're planning on having your tats is just the kind of area that people are going to see when you give birth (I'm thinking in the future here). You're going to have to get some that look pretty good so that you're not lying there worrying about what the doctors and midwives think of your ink...

I forgot it was summer I have to admit. That's what comes of having finished my course, I forget that other people are going back

Sounds cool. I've been watching the coverage of the Leeds festival on TV. To be honest I prefer seeing local bands than the big ones these days - it's a better atmosphere cause you don't have the security telling you to sit down all the time.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rainbowlullaby In reply to Ravenson [2006-08-29 16:48:12 +0000 UTC]

Maybe, maybe..
WHEN I'm going to give birth? Don't you mean IF?! Haha and they will look good. How could lightning bolts not look good. Really.

Yeah it is good seeing local bands. I'm off to see a local rockabilly band tonight! Fun

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravenson In reply to rainbowlullaby [2006-08-30 10:50:39 +0000 UTC]

See, you came very close to getting maximum points in the 'perfect woman' test there (maximum would of course have been if you'd have said you were definitely never having kids ever). Still, that's better than most women do
For some reason I got it into my head you were getting stars not lightning bolts... Where did I get stars from?

Was the band good?
