Description
Since I am going to cosplay dave - besides needing apple juice I made his sword. Not sure what i'll do about the spirals and the antennas but I'll figure something out.Related content

I found this tutorial on da and tried to use that, but quickly found out it wasnt proportioned right, so i tried to make it in sketchup, I got these imgur.com/AKtY1EV
I got 2 pieces of foam board from the dollar store- id say it was around 22x27 ish. (only used 1.5 of it)

How... do I even start.... OK. You make 2 of #2 those will be the middle pieces. Make 8 pieces that look like # 3, except save yourself and just make the fancy edges straight- I spent alot of time cutting it out to find black paint gives the illusion its cut. (also dont do the fancy cut marks I have on mine on one of the #3 pieces, it was supposed to be on the #1 piece- I'm just going to blame that I put the swords in the strife specibus wrong. On #1 you are cutting 1 square that goes to about the half way mark on the diagonal part of #3 and goes up till around 2 inches from the top(as long as it remains square shaped) in the middle of that make 1 doughnut and paint it black on top, and grey striped on the width.
I guess this is part of #1, but to make the handle I got a 3/4 inch- 1 inch dowel rod. If you get a smaller one you dont need all 8 pieces in #3. On the inside 4 of #3 you will need to cut a rectangle the size of the dowel rods diameter, and make it about 5 inches high. On the stick I carved an indentation about an inch-2 inches from the bottom for a handle, and added a spiral of electrical tape, leaving the wood exposed- otherwise you can paint it white.
I used elmers glue to hold everything together- do not use hot glue guns- it will melt the foam, then added decor with fabercastle pens and markers, black paint on the sides.
