Description Tired regressions into future states
yield the unknown to the forefront
of the mind's canvas.

We were only children when it began,
our fingers dipping into random buckets of life
to spread across the blank unknown.

What a mess we made of ourselves:
our minds cluttered with colors
and unfocused photographs
of things we were told to remember.

It doesn't matter what mistakes
were made in the painting;
it doesn't matter how late
we stayed awake thinking
that we could have done it better.

It's done and it's ours:
all of the splotches and lines,
the cracks in the paint
from our very first experiments in living.

And
we still don't know what it means

A truley delightful....metaphor? Some of the stuff you said in commens made me see the poem in a new light. Keeping people thinking when the poem is over is a rare talent....but you got it. Great title too.

Favourited

Wow... This is an amazing poem... I'm just... speechless.

The title works very well with this poem. I really don't have much more to say. You did a great (for lack of a better word) job.

I love this. Childhood is the only pure time. I like that you acknowledge its importance.

Kudos. If this were myspace, I'd give you two. This is soooooo good.

I try not to +fav more than one thing per artist--unless you are this guy (b33lz3bub) --but I may change my policy for you.

All this time on dA I have not been able to find a writer that consistently blows my mind. Today, you change that. I. Am. In. Awe.

I can't wait for the finish. But I am happy with this.

Comments are more constructive than favoriting. I try to encourage the former over the latter.

You continue to make me smile. I haven't written anything truly new in a while - but I am beginning to feel inspired to. Thank you.

As I said before, I favorite what I truly enjoy. If I could read/view a piece once a day forever and enjoy it... that is only the first step of a favoriting. Moods and politics come into play to. I just recently came back to dA so I have been faving like a mad dog.

Truthfully, you own some of my favorite pieces on the internet.

Ah, I'm reckless when it comes to politics and the fragile relations some people have. I favorite anything I'd jump to look at or read again, so my favorites folder is well-packed.

Thanks again for your words.
