Beautiful. i love how she looks. now that you mention it, Frozen was supposed to be remake of Walt's ideas. he cancelled it because he didn't know what to do with SQ's morality, she serves antagonistical role but isn't pure evil. So bad, film is good but no original story, I hoped it will be her rise to power or that she will be behind Elsa's powers. I lover her ( Snow Queen) most of all Β in tale, she just sounded so lonely but she did give Kai way to go, even if he came willingly and she loved having him as foster son of kind around. You know, she is based on hans's favorite story, Ice Maiden, snow faery that ferries people to death. His father, even as devout Christian, always believed it will be her, not angel of death that will take him to afterlife.

MMM...yeah. Not to happy with how frozen took the story. Like, it's decent on it's own but...no snow queen. also this was done in 2010...a very long time ago. I might redo it at some point...Lol. no. actually one of my older pieces I'm happy with.Β

It's a good piece of art. Reminds me almost of a "Van Gogh" style, what with the impressionism. It gave me a sense of Cruela DeVille.
But honestly...don't be upset that Disney cancelled it. Disney destroys everything they touch. It's alright for them to take some "liberties" with short stories, but "The Snow Queen" has a lot to it that they would have tried to dumb down.
First of all, they would have tried to make Kay and Gerda romantic, because heaven forbid that a non-family member can express true love for another human being that isn't romantic, especially one of the opposite sex. Next they would have intentionally gotten rid of all of the Christian themes to avoid offending anyone. (Actually, I'm not sure about that one...they did keep it for "Narnia", although it didn't work out that well.) Finally, they would have filled it with goofy, singing animals and "jazzed up" the ending, because they would have figured her simply walking out with Kay would be too "anti-climatic" for sensationalistic-accustomed modern kiddies.
In other words...it would have been the horrid Hallmark Channel version. This is just me personally, but I would rather it never exist than come into being as that.
But it is a real pity. All of those "Disney Princesses" they always tout and market were mostly just damsels in distress (Belle being the only real exception...and maybe the new one from "Frog Princess" since I haven't watched a Disney film in years...). It would have been nice to have a female protagonist rescue the male for once. (Again, I don't know what the story was for "Frog Princess".)

Yes, but they did a very wonderful job with Tangled. And The Littler Mermaid was actually planned out in the 1950s and shelved because at the time it wasn't appropriate...hopefully someday disney will pick up this project again and make it awesome. Just for now, it's on a stand still.
And yes, Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists. Just sucks in todays society art like that isn't as appreciated, it's all about the shiny and smoothness...feels like painting in a classical manner is nearly impossible now...it's all about the perfectionism. Rare I get to throw my emotion in my work, having to ussually spruce it up and conform to the art style of today rather then feel free like I did with this piece.
And Snow Queen is still my fav childhood story, right next to the one where the sister has to keep silent while she knits shirts for her brothers who were turned into swans to turn them back into humans
...think I might do that painting one day. when I have time. lol.

It's so beautiful!! And I too am very disappointed they cancelled the Disney movie. It's always been my favorite story and I thought it would make the best Disney movie ever (if it was anything like your lovely picture here!)
