Description
I get asked to make tutorials a lot. Like.. A LOT. @__@It's simple and probably hard to understand, but here you all go. My most requested tutorial: How to color eyes.
If you have questions just ask! I will list some info here in the description as well. <3
- I work on SAI, so this was done on SAI
- Settings are pretty much whatever the program comes with (I'm lazy)
- Pen tool for drawing in the pupil and shiny dots on the eyes, ectect
- Water tool for blending
- Airbrush tool for adding soft lights

I personally can't find one in Paint tool SAI, but I know there is one in photoshop. If there's not a tool for it you can just blotch 2 colors down and use the water tool to smooth them out and blend them. Gradient just means it fades from one color to another ^_^

sorry I'm new to sai and digital drawing

RaineSeryn In reply to Echoingdreams [2013-07-05 07:14:03 +0000 UTC]
The base color is 1 layer, then the shades are another, then a layer set on multiply (says which set on the tutorial), then one set to luminocity (also says), and a final one above everything for the shines. You could do the layers pretty much however you want tho. XD
I hope that helps! And no worries, I do not mind questions one bit! ^_^

may i ask how to add soft gradient? i also use piant sai by the way.

RaineSeryn In reply to IamLibertyy [2013-05-22 15:16:59 +0000 UTC]
What I usually do is put down the 2 colors and use the water tool to blend them to look like a gradient. I don't know if there's an easier way to do it. XD
But you could also maybe use a large soft airbrush and gently brush on color over the other.
I hope that helps!

Prolly the best coloring tutorial I've seen by far, since you actually went step by step by step by step by step, and so on.
Nice job.

Aww thank you! I tried to make sure there was nothing left out. I hate reading a tutorial and it's like one minute you're with them, and then next step you're like 'woah what magic is this?!! O__O'
